New Ukrainian Drone Has 40 Km Range and Was Developed to Withstand Russian Electronic Jamming, Promising to Change Strategies on the Front.
Ukraine is ready to introduce a new type of attack drone designed to resist Russian electronic warfare. The announcement came after the successful completion of the final testing phase of the equipment, conducted by the Brave1 defense innovation cluster.
The drone has a range of over 40 kilometers and promises greater precision against deep targets in enemy territory.
Mykhailo Fedorov, Ukraine’s Minister of Digital Transformation, celebrated the result and stated that the final tests were a success.

He highlighted that the project was born from the urgent need to circumvent the electronic jamming applied by Russia on the battlefield.
In recent months, Russian electronic warfare systems have caused significant losses to operations with Ukrainian kamikaze drones.
They intercept signals, spoof coordinates, and divert the devices from their targets. This practice has reduced the effectiveness of various airstrikes conducted by Kiev.
Development With Direct Support From The Military
To create the new drone, manufacturers relied on direct support from the Ukrainian armed forces. Military personnel provided guidance on essential requirements and capabilities to face electronic jamming and maintain stable navigation during missions.
According to Brave1, the drone was specifically designed to penetrate layers of electronic defense and accurately hit critical objectives.
The group stated that it is now starting the combat testing phase, where the equipment will be taken to the battlefield or simulated environments to verify its performance under real and extreme conditions.
Brave1 also emphasized that it seeks to expedite the mass production of these drones.
The goal is to quickly make units available for combat fronts, enhancing attack capacity and reducing reliance on expensive armaments.
Strategic Bet On National Production
Ukraine has been investing in the domestic production of drones for almost two years and has created a military unit dedicated exclusively to them. The strategy emerged to reduce costs and increase the autonomy of the armed forces.
Drones are cheaper than missiles and can execute precision attacks against strategic targets. Therefore, they have become a practical alternative to maintain pressure on Russian troops even with limited resources.
In July, the forces from Kiev claimed to have conducted the world’s first fully unmanned offensive operation.
According to them, the action captured Russian soldiers using only ground robots and aerial drones, without involving human troops directly.
Brave1 and The Future of Autonomous Systems
Founded in 2023 by the Ukrainian government, Brave1 operates as a coordination platform between companies and defense entities.
In addition to drones, it develops explosives, artificial intelligence for autonomous systems, tactical ballistic missiles, and anti-aircraft missiles.
The company has launched scholarship programs to boost these areas and announced new competitions to attract talent.
Meanwhile, Russia continues testing fiber optic drones resistant to jamming, similar to wire-guided missiles, in response to Ukrainian innovations.
