UFJF Has Hundreds of Openings in Distance Learning Undergraduate Courses in Areas Such as Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, and Much More. These Are Free Distance Courses with Enrollments Open Until the End of February.
The Federal University of Juiz de Fora (UFJF) recently released the selection notice for admission to distance learning undergraduate courses. In total, there are 907 openings in free distance undergraduate courses developed in partnership with the Open University of Brazil (UAB). The free distance courses vary according to the desired campus.

The free distance courses available in the selection process are as follows:
- Computing;
- Mathematics;
- Chemistry;
- Physics;
- Physical Education;
- Pedagogy.

Those interested in UFJF’s programs can choose one of the admission modalities. The first is aimed at the general public, which considers the average grades in Portuguese and Mathematics, with the presentation of the high school transcript, and makes up 70% of the vacancies.

The second is focused on public school teachers, currently employed, without initial higher education qualifications, those who do not have training in the area in which they work, representing 30% of the vacancies. In this case, teachers must prove their affiliation with their respective education networks and present, as a mandatory requirement, their registration on the Freire Platform.
The candidate must select the preferred campus to take the distance learning undergraduate courses. If the number of applicants exceeds the quota for teachers, the selection criterion will be based on the longest period of service, and in case of a tie, the older candidate will have an advantage.
Register for the Undergraduate Courses in Distance Learning Mode
Candidates can register from 3 PM on the 2nd until 6 PM on February 29, only online and through the Copese website. During the registration period, candidates must read the instructions, complete the form with their full details, and submit it electronically.
Then, print the Federal Collection Guide (GRU) corresponding to the registration fee, amounting to R$ 150, and make the payment of the GRU by February 29, exclusively at Banco do Brasil. The final proof of registration will be available to the candidate starting at 4 PM on March 6, 2024, in the candidate area.
The estimate is that the final result will be announced on March 25, starting at 3 PM, through the Copese website. The days, deadlines, and document submission for enrollment of successful candidates in the free undergraduate courses will be announced on the website of the Academic Affairs and Records Coordination (Cdara). Classes will begin on April 15 of this year.
Learn How to Get a Fee Waiver for UFJF’s Free Courses
The fee waiver for the selection process registration can be requested during the online registration, from 3 PM on the 2nd until 4 PM on February 14.
The candidate must check the result of their request on the General Coordination of Selection Processes (Copese) website, starting at 3 PM on February 20.
Those whose waivers are denied must, on the same registration website, generate the GRU and make the payment of the fee under the conditions and deadlines established by the notice. Those whose request for fee waiver is approved must check the issuance of the definitive proof to ensure that their registration has been completed.
