IFMS Offers Free Courses in Spanish, English, and Brazilian Sign Language, at Basic and Intermediate Levels, for All Ages!
The deadline to register for the selection of free language courses at the Federal Institute of Mato Grosso do Sul (IFMS) ends on January 15. A total of 450 spots are being offered for Spanish, English, and Brazilian Sign Language, at basic and intermediate levels.

To participate, it is necessary to have completed Elementary School I (5th grade). The spots are aimed at students and staff of IFMS, as well as the general public.
Placement Test
Candidates registered for courses starting from Basic Level II in the ongoing classes will need to take a placement test.
This online test aims to assess the candidate’s proficiency level and knowledge, thus determining the class in which they can compete for a spot.
The dates and times for the test will be announced at the Selection Center by January 17.
If a candidate does not achieve a result compatible with the course and level offerings, they will still be able to participate in the electronic draw for the corresponding Level I class if there are available spots in the campus and chosen course.
Selection and Important Dates
The selection of candidates will be conducted by electronic draw, scheduled for February 7, with a live broadcast on the YouTube Channel.
The final ranking and the call for enrollment are expected to be announced by February 14. Classes are set to begin on March 10.
Objective of IFMS Courses
The Initial and Continuing Education (FIC) offered by the Language Center (Cenid) of the Federal Institute of Mato Grosso do Sul aims to provide training in Spanish, English, and Brazilian Sign Language for both external and internal communities, promoting the internationalization of the institution.

The courses are structured in two stages, each with three semesters, and at the end of each stage, the student will receive a nationally valid certificate, proving their level of language proficiency.
