The Oily Water Leaked from Trident Energy’s PCE1 Platform Early Thursday Morning. Vessels and Environmental Agencies Are Already Working on Containment
Information about the oily water leak from a Trident Energy platform in the Campos Basin reached the CPG this Thursday (11). At the time we received the news, it was estimated that the stain was 600 meters wide by 5 km, originating from the underwater line from PCE1 x Pampo. At this moment, support vessels are operating to contain the oil, and an IBAMA helicopter is flying over the area. One of them we learned about is the PSV Navegantes Pride from Bram Offshore. We contacted Trident Energy, and they eventually released an official note about the environmental incident

“Trident Energy informs that around 4:00 AM today, an oily water leak occurred from the Central Enchova 1 Platform (PCE1), located in the Campos Basin. The platform is in operation and in a safe condition.”

“It is estimated that a volume of 0.25m3 has reached the sea, and the company promptly sent vessels to the site, aiming to contain and collect the oil. The responsible agencies have already been informed of the incident. Trident is committed to the protection of the environment, people, and our operations, in order to contribute to sustainable development through responsible management of risks and environmental impacts,” the company completes in an official note to Click Petróleo e Gás.
