Electric vehicles are already a reality worldwide. Because of this, companies all over the globe are investing in the creation of cheaper and more accessible electric vehicles for all layers of the population. Mercedes Benz, Ford, and GM already have large-capacity electric vans, but their steep prices have led to some much cheaper Chinese versions. Unlike the electric vehicles from Mercedes Benz, Ford, and GM, the Chinese minivan misleads due to its multiple windows and the promise of carrying many passengers. However, the vehicle is quite small, requiring people to squeeze a lot to fit the promised number inside.

The designers of this vehicle were quite generous to claim it can transport up to 9 people, as the Chinese electric car measures only 3.6 meters in length. Within those 3.6 meters, there are two seats in the front, one for the driver and another for the passenger. In the back, the company opted for 2 full seats.

Electric Vehicle: Performance of the Electric Minivan

The performance of the Chinese minivan is quite similar to electric cars of the same size that are sold in large quantities on Chinese websites. The factory emphasizes that the electric vehicle has a 5,000 W electric motor, with 6.7 horsepower. The company’s demonstration video shows it going up a very steep ramp. See below.

With such a powerful motor, laughs, you will step hard on the accelerator and reach an incredible 40 km/h. Everbright did not specify whether this maximum speed is for the electric vehicle with the 8 passengers or just with the driver.

Battery Range of the Chinese Electric Van

If it sells as a minivan with the capacity to carry up to 9 people, it becomes mandatory for the battery to have decent performance. The batteries of Everbright’s Chinese electric vehicle have a lead-acid battery set of 12V 60V and 120Ah. This results in 72 kWh of power.

The company assures that the battery set is enough for a range of 120 km. Lead-acid batteries are a thing of the past, as they are less efficient. However, the company has provided a solar panel for capturing solar energy. It can be installed on top of the electric vehicle, potentially increasing efficiency by 40 km. See images below.
