The Ford F-150 Lightning, Ford’s Electric Truck, Promises to Revolutionize the Electric Vehicle Market. This Is the American Company’s Big Bet
The focus of automakers in the coming decades is to build increasingly efficient electric cars that are affordable for consumers. With this in mind, Ford launched this week the electric truck Ford F-150 Lightning, the company’s main bet to enter the electric vehicle market.
“For both Ford and the automotive industry, the F-150 Lightning represents a pivotal moment as we move toward a future of zero carbon emissions and digitally connected,” said Bill Ford, executive chairman of Ford in the U.S.
This is Ford’s big bet as it is the electric version of the Ford F-150, the best-selling truck in the country. Because of this, its electric version is expected to attract the attention of fans of the diesel-powered version .

Batteries
The Ford F-150 Lightning features two liquid-cooled batteries. The standard model has a range of 370 km, while the extended version of the truck will have about 482 km of range. It is worth noting that other factors such as towing, terrain, and weather will certainly cause the range to vary significantly.
Price
In the U.S., the truck will have a starting sale price of $39,700. In the country, there are several government incentives that will cause the price to go down. In some states, it can be purchased for up to $30,000.
Ford F-150 Charger
Ford will offer new truck owners an 80A Monster charger, Charge Station Pro. There will also be a 32A portable charger. A more powerful portable charger, the 48A, will be offered as an option. It provides much faster charging than the conventional version.
The Ford F-150 Lightning also features an innovative system that works as a type of backup power. In case of a power outage in your home, the vehicle can keep the home lights on for a period.
Public Presentation
The official presentation of Ford’s new truck took place on Wednesday, the 19th. All the vehicle’s updates were finally unveiled, with many people approving the design and functionalities of the vehicle. Watch the launch video below.
The new electric vehicle from Ford has not yet hit the market. The idea is that the vehicles will begin to be sold early next year. However, orders for the purchase of the vehicle have already started in the U.S.
