The Launch of the First Tractor with Automation Technology in Brazil, the Galileu, Is an Essential Part of the Investment Plan in Innovation by the Company VIX Logística, a Reference in the State of Espírito Santo Regarding the Adoption of Modernization in Its Operations.
The company from Espírito Santo VIX Logística continues to invest in modernization and innovation in the logistics sector this Thursday, (07/28), and launched the first tractor with automation technology in all of Brazil, called Galileu, which will allow new directions for the company’s operations. The investment for the development of the vehicle was R$ 6 million, and the company can now continue adopting even more technology in its processes, optimizing the time spent on operations and reducing logistics costs.
Galileu Tractor Is the First in Brazil to Have Automation Technology and Gives the Company VIX Logística Another Step Towards Innovation in the Sector
The largest logistics company of the Águia Branca Group, VIX Logística, located in the state of Espírito Santo, took another step towards innovation in its production processes and launched the first tractor with automation technology in Brazil, the Galileu. This is the first vehicle of its kind with level 4 automation, meaning it can move on its own, and it is an essential part of the company’s fleet modernization plan.
And, besides being the first and only one in Brazil to have this type of automation technology, it is also among the few existing worldwide, as this level of robotization is not commonly seen in the global market.

But it is not just in terms of modernization that the VIX Logística tractor stands out, as the vehicle has a total volume capacity of over 80 tons, quite high for the logistics operations carried out in the national territory.
The entire project development was initiated during the year 2021 and took place at the headquarters of VIX Logística, located in Vitória, the capital of Espírito Santo. For this, there was a total investment of R$ 6 million, and this is still the first practical result of Viva (VIX Veículos Autônomos), the company’s new business unit.
Despite having contact with several partners and suppliers from all over Brazil, the construction of the Galileu tractor occurred entirely at VIX Logística’s facilities, further establishing the company’s reference in automation technology.
Launch of the Galileu Tractor, the First in Level 4 Automation Technology in Brazil, Will Enable More Efficiency and Operational Quality for the Logistics Company
The director of VIX and one of the project’s idealizers, Elias Alves, commented more on the development of the Galileu tractor and the importance of level 4 automation technology for the company’s operations, highlighting that VIX Logística will be able to expand its presence in the logistics market with a focus on modernization and become an even greater reference in the sector.
“We will have more efficiency and safety in our operations. The replication of what was done with Galileu is straightforward, we have thirty tractors that will soon have the same level of automation as the vehicle we are launching now,” said the executive. The CEO of VIX Logística, Patrícia Chieppe, stated: “It’s a new world, and VIX, with Viva, takes on a pioneering role. We believe and will continue to invest in automation and digitalization, not only of equipment but also of processes.”
In addition to moving on its own with automation technology, the Galileu tractor has redundant safety systems and features a physical device installed around the vehicle that, when activated, turns on safety mode, ensuring even more modernization in its operations.
