According to Paulo Mendes, director of Grupo Mendes, the total number of job openings may reach up to 5,000 once the space is operational.
The mall will be built on a total area of 160,000 square meters located on Avenida Kennedy at the intersection with Álvaro dos Santos Street and 1st of January Street, in the Vila Mirim neighborhood.
The new development will house about 300 stores, with a food court capable of accommodating 1,500 people, and the mall will also feature six movie theaters with a total capacity for 1,000 spectators.
The exit flow from the mall has been strategically directed to Avenida Castelo Branco to avoid a significant increase in vehicles on Avenida Presidente Keneddy, one of the city’s main roads. There will be specific spaces for bus lines, taxis, and app-based vehicles.
“We were very strict regarding the urban impacts of the project. We need to create synergy to avoid obstructing the city and to create opportunities for new developments,” emphasizes Mayor Alberto Mourão.
The construction will also include an annex to the building, where the Sancta Maggiore Hospital, part of the Prevent Senior network, with 120 beds, will be installed.
The inauguration of this structure is expected to occur after that of the commercial complex due to technical complexity.
According to Mourão, although private, the hospital will have a positive impact on the public health network of Praia Grande, and it is expected to alleviate public emergency services by up to 30%.
