On the morning of this Wednesday (1st), the Secretary of Labor, Employment, Income and Sports (Setre) signed a technical cooperation agreement with the company Ventos de São Vitor 01 Energias Renováveis S/A. The intention is to provide job vacancies for the professional workforce from the municipalities of Itaguaçu da Bahia, Xique-Xique, and Gentio do Ouro for the construction of the Ventos de São Vitor Wind Farm. The estimate is that 600 direct job vacancies will be generated for now, aiming for more than half of the hires to be from the region of the municipalities in Bahia. The SineBahia Network has already registered and updated the records of at least 1,200 workers through an electronic form.

Under construction since January, the wind energy project will have approximately 2.3 billion BRL in investments and an installed capacity of 2GW. The expected start date for operations will be in the second half of next year, with the wind farm fully operational by the first quarter of 2023.
The estimate is that more than 2,000 job vacancies will be generated solely during the construction work. In addition to the wind farm, the company is also building a solar energy complex in Oliveira dos Brejinhos, which is expected to be completed by the end of this year.
Bahia Progressing in Job Generation in the Renewable Sector
Currently, Bahia leads the ranking of states working with accumulated wind and solar energy from January to August of this year, also being one of the main job generators in the sector.
The generation of opportunities and income in the state is very favorable, with 13,000 direct jobs created just in the construction of wind and solar energy parks. The estimate is that more than 64,000 job vacancies will be generated in the construction of parks that are yet to be initiated.
