The Entire Operation Was Completed in Record Time, from the Initial Loading in China to the Final Disembarkation in Southern Bahia
The Tanque Novo Wind Project in Bahia is progressing rapidly, and CGN Brazil announced that the inauguration of the project will take place in April of next year. The logistical port operation completed today (07/03) at the industrial and logistical complex of Enseada, in Maragojipe, Recôncavo, Bahia, was one of the pillars of the project’s success.
Forty wind turbines (or wind generators) from Goldwind Manufacturing were received, stored in the 750,000 square meters of the customs area of the complex, and transported nearly 1,000 kilometers to their destination. The entire operation was completed in record time, from the initial loading in China to the final disembarkation in southern Bahia. With one exception: the success of the activities was largely due to an innovation by a Bahian engineer.
Differentiated Methodology Was Needed for Efficient Logistics at Enseada
Inspired by a surfboard, he came up with the idea of inverting the set (truck, supports, and blades) and created a pair of devices that, placed on the special trailer carrying the blades during the ship’s disembarkation, allowed for inverting the side of the sweep of the blade, which is 76 meters long and weighs tens of thousands of kilos.

A ship from China brought over 5,000 electric cars to Brazil at once: it was the largest operation ever recorded by the port, with 5,101 vehicles disembarking in Paranaguá.

China completes the world’s largest diameter underwater tunnel under the Yellow River: 17.5 meters in diameter, two levels, six lanes, and a 163-meter TBM named Shanhe.
“Traditional transportation is done with the tail facing the back of the trailer. The solution was developed by Danilo Oliveira, a mechanical engineer at Enseada with an MBA in Lean Manufacturing. Oliveira is also a mechanical engineer at Enseada.

According to him, the invention was designed in collaboration with the company’s personnel, simulated in engineering software, and tested at the Enseada dock before deployment, ensuring a secure, productive, and error-free port logistics contract at every stage.
Regional Development, Business, and Job Creation at Enseada
“The wind turbines were relocated and temporarily stored in our customs area through a meticulous port procedure. Finally, our client transported the sets by road to the southern region of Bahia,” explains Mário Moura, Operations Director of Enseada.
Carlos Tsubake, Business Director of Enseada, cites the consolidation of the terminal as a hub that opens new business perspectives, generates jobs and income, and contributes to sustainable regional development as another differential of the business. “Bahia has, at Enseada, a world-class naval, port, and industrial complex, a result of a private investment of R$ 3 billion, which is prepared to generate even more qualified jobs in the state,” promises Tsubake.
Bahian Release Position in Terms of Energy, Wind Projects, and an Integrated Business Hub
The Tanque Novo Wind Complex is located in southern Bahia, in the municipalities of Tanque Novo and Caetité. Eventually, the Complex will have 40 wind turbines distributed across seven wind farms with a total installed capacity of 180 MW. The execution of the Park will consolidate Bahia’s national leadership in the production of wind energy, which currently exceeds 30% of the national total. In December, Goldwind and its client CGN Brazil completed fifty percent of the wind turbine installation in record time; by April, the installation will be complete, increasing the installed capacity.
According to Yao Zhigang, president of CGN Brazil, this achievement would give the state a leadership position in the production of clean and renewable energy in the country, demonstrating the success of the strategy advocated and executed by the government of Bahia ten years ago. Yao Zhigang stated: “We are building one of the most contemporary and productive wind farms in Brazil, and the Government of Bahia has been a crucial partner in the success of the operation.”
