The document issued by ANTAQ is valid for 25 years and stipulates that ENSEADA will store and handle bulk minerals (iron ore), general cargo, and oversized equipment, such as towers and wind turbine blades, in addition to expanding the port terminal area to 740 thousand square meters, transforming ENSEADA into one of the largest operating ports in the Northeast.
Operational Efficiency – Located in Maragojipe, in the Baiano Recôncavo, the Private Use Terminal of Enseada (TUP ENSEADA) has sheltered waters, deep draft, and a privileged location, ensuring superior safety and efficiency in cargo handling.

The TUP ENSEADA Started Its Operations in 2020 and in Less Than a Year Already Stored and Handled 308 Thousand Tons of Minerals from Bahia Mines
The TUP ENSEADA started its operations in 2020 and in less than a year already stored and handled 308 thousand tons of minerals from Bahia mines. “There were seven shipments of 44 thousand tons each successfully carried out by our team, which already positions us as the largest operating mineral port in Bahia,” reveals Mário Moura, operations director of Enseada.
Business Expansion – In recent years, ENSEADA has undergone a strategic repositioning, expanding its operations beyond its naval and industrial vocation. Today, the Bahian company offers integrated engineering solutions for naval and offshore projects, as well as industrial and port-logistics.
According to Maurício Almeida, president of ENSEADA, the company maintains its vocation for the construction of offshore and industrial projects, but now also operates in the port segment, becoming a relevant player in the sector. The license marks the conclusion of a long process of nearly three years of work focused on diversifying ENSEADA’s business, beyond the naval and offshore construction sector.
“We repositioned the company, and in the midst of a serious pandemic, we resumed hiring and generating income. Today we offer our facilities to the national industry, in a converging and competitive industrial agenda that will result in value creation for our company and customers. In addition, it will implement a new route for the export of commodities from Bahia, generating development and opportunities for the Recôncavo region. All of this with legal security, solid governance, and a strong sustainability policy that set us apart,” summarizes Almeida.
The Board of Directors of the Merchant Marine Fund Approved the Transfer of R$ 757.2 Million for Projects Aimed at the Naval Sector
On July 2, 2020, the Board of Directors of the Merchant Marine Fund (CDFMM) approved the transfer of R$ 757.2 million for projects aimed at the naval sector.
Among the projects approved by the FMM, the construction of 2 container ships by Petrocity Portos in partnership with Enseada Indústria Naval stands out, for a value of R$ 308.6 million, under a Memorandum of Understanding between the companies.
“We know that the shipbuilding industry is eager for good news, but it should be noted that the execution of the contract between Petrocity and Enseada depends on the approval of the Financial Agents of the FMM, and therefore any forecasts about new jobs that may be generated at the Bahia shipyard are premature,” said ENSEADA on its social media profile.
According to the shipbuilding yard, ENSEADA is working diligently to bring new business opportunities for its workers and suppliers, and future opportunities will be shared through the official media of Enseada.
