Reiter Log, a company founded 13 years ago in the Southern region of Brazil, establishes itself as an example of sustainability in road transportation by acquiring 124 new Scania trucks powered by Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) and/or Bio-methane.
This acquisition further strengthens its fleet, modernizing the service and making it increasingly efficient. The search for the best solutions to reduce emissions of gases that contribute to global warming was expressed at the latest edition of Fenatran, the largest road transport and logistics fair in Latin America.
Reiter Log’s investment in the purchase of these 124 trucks adds to other acquisitions made in 2021, thus consolidating its position as a leader in road transportation powered by gas and/or bio-methane.
Vanessa Reiter Pilz, ESG director of Reiter Log, stated: “In 2021, we bought 124 gas units and doubled down on our commitment. It’s a purpose we believe in and we have reaped good sustainable rewards. We are part of a sustainable ecosystem and we thank Scania for helping us to stay on our path.” Scania, proud of its partnership with Reiter Log on the sustainability journey, highlights the importance of working together to lead the transition to a greener transportation system in Brazil. “Together, we are building the future!”

For those who don’t know, Scania is the first truck manufacturer in the world to set science-based targets to ensure sustainability. To fulfill such a promise, we need to find transporters committed to the cause. That’s where the partnership with Reiter comes in: a shared identity of purposes that aligns with the same goal of building a sustainable supply chain for the benefit of society. With this partnership, Silvio Munhoz, Head of Commercial Operations at Scania in Brazil, believes it will be possible to achieve the ideal outcome.

About the Trucks
The new Scania heavy trucks powered by gas are designed for medium and long-distance operations. The design features 12.7-liter engines, 6 cylinders, and 410 horsepower, along with the Otto Cycle, the same used in automobiles.
The trucks are either bio-methane or CNG 100% gas, providing greater silence and reducing CO2 emissions by up to 15% with CNG and 90% with bio-methane. The range is up to 550 kilometers.
The safety of the vehicles is ensured by cylinders made with military-grade materials and a triple valve activated in case of anomaly that automatically releases gas, avoiding explosion or fire risks. Additionally, the items have certification from Inmetro and a factory warranty.
