AgResource Brazil, which is a subsidiary of the American company known as AgResource Company, conducted a review of the soybean production estimates for the 22/23 cycle. However, this was shortly after the crop tour that was conducted in the state of Mato Grosso by the team.
Thus, during the tour it was observed that the amount of crops in the state of Mato Grosso was better than the expectations from the beginning. In this case, the production for the 22/23 cycle was adjusted, and the numbers were good, with over 154.25 million tons. Moreover, the gains were 0.84% compared to the last estimate.
Speaking of estimates, the last reduction of the crop was in Rio Grande do Sul. But only the gains in productivity and consequently in production were approximately +1.97% in the state of Mato Grosso.
In this way, in this and in other states there was another adjustment of -1.44% for the gaucho state of Rio Grande do Sul. This was due to a drought affecting the southern region and thus the current estimated production is 20.23 million tons across the state. However, it has a high potential for new changes due to the evolution of the crops.

Crop of the Year 2022:
It’s important to remember that last year, the crop from January to March was not very good for Rio Grande do Sul and for Paraná. The two states together lost nearly 5 million tons of soybeans. Initially, in March, a review of the soybean crop was also conducted by AgResource Brazil.
Thus, the current crop up to that month was 119.45 million tons. This reduction was made during a Crop Tour conducted by the company in Mato Grosso and also passed through cities along BR 163 where over 52% of the areas that produce soybeans are located.
In Argentina last year AgResource also reduced the soybean crop to 37.65 million tons, having an estimate of 41 million tons, but was indicated by the Buenos Aires Grain Exchange as 42 million tons. The Rosario Exchange estimated 40.5 million tons. All of this due to low rainfall and the record heat in Argentina.
