Device Used to Count More Fuel Than Was Actually Refueled in Consumers’ Tanks, Authorities Worry This Practice May Be Common in Gas Stations in Rio de Janeiro

ANP is shutting down a gas station today (7/4) in Brás de Pina, in the city of Rio de Janeiro, caught with an illegal device to fraudulently manipulate the fuel pump. The pump was providing 2.8 liters less for every 20 liters recorded.
The operation is conducted in conjunction with Inmetro and coordinated by DDSD – Delegacia de Defesa dos Serviços Delegados (Civil Police).  The gas station is located at Estrada do Quitungo, 1610, Brás de Pina, Rio de Janeiro, RJ. Source ANP
