The battery manufacturer, CATL, is hesitant to open a factory on American soil due to recent tensions between the governments of China and the U.S., and mainly because of the cost of labor expenses, which are higher.
Apple May Be Developing Its Own Batteries and Technologies for Future Electric Cars
The company was supposedly creating and developing its own battery technology for electric cars; however, it is uncertain whether it will actually build and manufacture the packs or if another company, like the Chinese ones, will take on such tasks.
In total, the American country intends to invest R$ 174 billion to assist in the development process of manufacturing and selling electric cars. Thus, Apple needs to ensure that these partnerships with the Chinese happen as soon as possible to meet the deadline by 2024 for the launch of its electric car.

As a North American multinational company, Apple carries the goal of designing, manufacturing, and selling consumer electronics, such as computer software and personal computers.
In hardware, the company produces a line of Macintosh computers, iPods, iPhones, iPads, and many other products. The company was founded by Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak, and Ronald Wayne in 1976 but was only incorporated in January of the following year.
Its original name was Apple Computers Inc. and, in 2007, “Computer” was dropped due to the company’s expansion into the smartphone line.
