JBL Unveils Its New PartyBox 720 Speakers, Combining 800W RMS Power, Up to 15-Hour Battery Life, and Auracast Support with Robust Design, Dynamic Lights, and Professional Connectivity for Large Events.
JBL announced the PartyBox 720, its largest battery-powered model to date, featuring 800 W RMS, IPX4 water resistance, and up to 15 hours of autonomy.
The product is available for pre-order for US$ 1,099 in the United States, with deliveries expected to start on September 21, 2025.
Besides its power, the speaker boasts dynamic lights, professional inputs, and Auracast to extend sound across multiple speakers.

Power and Sound Quality
In the acoustic setup, the PartyBox 720 includes two 9” woofers and two 1.25” dome tweeters. This configuration is designed for extensive bass and defined treble.
According to the technical specifications, frequency response ranges from 32 Hz to 20 kHz, with SNR > 80 dB. The lighting package syncs with the beat, offering star effects, flowing trails, and strobe lights.
Autonomy and Replaceable Battery

One of the innovations in this generation is the adoption of two replaceable batteries (JBL Battery 600). They allow the party to continue even away from power outlets.
The brand claims up to 15 hours of playback and fast charging that can add about 2 hours with 10 minutes plugged in.
The total recharge time is 3 hours with the speaker turned off. For portable use, the design aims at events where swapping the battery pack is more practical than waiting for a charge.
Connectivity and Inputs
In addition to Bluetooth, the speaker offers USB-C, 3.5 mm auxiliary input, and two XLR inputs for microphones, guitars, or DJ controllers.
The device supports MP3, WAV, and FLAC file playback via USB. It uses Bluetooth 5.4 with A2DP 1.4 and AVRCP 1.6 profiles.
There’s also support for Auracast, which allows pairing two PartyBox 720 units in stereo or creating a wireless network with other compatible JBL models.
Construction, Dimensions, and Resistance
Although it is a large piece of equipment, portability is enhanced by the integrated handle and wide wheels.
The structure measures 416 x 942 x 406 mm and weighs 31 kg. The IPX4 certification indicates splash resistance, useful for outdoor parties or near swimming pools.
Lighting and App Control
The light show remains a central element of the PartyBox line. The patterns react in real time to the music.
Control of the EQ, effects, and other functions is concentrated in the JBL PartyBox app. It integrates sound adjustment with visual customization.
Differences Compared to the PartyBox 710
Compared to the PartyBox 710, the 720 maintains the 800 W output but operates wirelessly thanks to its replaceable battery system.
This model becomes JBL’s largest battery-powered speaker. The product also increases in dimensions and weight.
It features wider wheels and a redesigned handle to accommodate the extra bulk. For those already using the 710 plugged in, the new version positions itself as an alternative with stage mobility and more versatile pairing features.
Launch and Price

The PartyBox 720 is in pre-order for US$ 1,099 on the brand’s website. Distribution in the United States begins on September 21, 2025.
So far, there is no announced date for Brazil. Global releases typically reach the Brazilian market months later, but JBL has not confirmed a local timeline.
Target Audience for the PartyBox 720
The focus of the 720 is medium to large parties that require high SPL, deep bass, and the use of microphones or instruments directly on the speaker.
Those needing to cover larger areas can benefit from stereo pairing between two units or a mesh with Auracast.
The IPX4 rating and replaceable battery favor outdoor events, where energy logistics are not always predictable.
With this combination of power, a replaceable battery, and professional inputs, the 720 raises the bar for battery-powered “party speakers”; which feature is most important to you when choosing a model of this caliber?
