BYD announces massive hiring for 2025: 10 new vacancies promise to boost the automotive industry in Bahia and transform the sector in Brazil. Check out how to participate in the selection process!

This year of 2025 promises to be a year of great expansion for the national automotive industry with the complete production of cars by BYD in its new factory in Camaçari, Bahia. Starting this month of January, the company will begin a selection process that promises to boost job creation in the region. In total, there will be 10 thousand vacancies at BYD for the Bahia unit.

Understand how BYD hiring will work for the automotive industry?

According to the automaker, details of a BYD hiring program will be announced in the coming days, which promises to move professionals from Bahia and other states to job opportunities. The schedule foresees the opening of 2 vacancies at BYD in January, 3 in May and 5 in August, totaling 10 jobs created.

The new employees from the automotive industry will be integrated into several areas of the new factory, reinforcing the company's commitment to job creation and regional economic development.

According to Stella Li, CEO of the Americas and Europe and global executive vice president of the brand, by hiring BYD to generate thousands of jobs, the company is not only boosting the local economy, but also contributing to the development of a greener and more efficient value chain.

BYD is transforming the automotive industry in Camaçari Silicon Valley of Latin America. It is building a strong R&D center, training local engineers and technicians to lead in innovation. And that is just the beginning, according to Stella Li.

Understand why BYD is hiring for thousands of jobs

The year 2024 ended with big numbers for the Chinese company. Worldwide, BYD sold a total of 504.003 passenger vehicles in November alone, an increase of 67,2% compared to the same number in the previous year. Total sales in 2024 already reach more than 3,7 million units.

In Brazil, November was also a historic month with the success of Black Friday. 12.308 units were sold in stores across the country. The number of registrations was the highest ever recorded and reached a record 8037. Thus, in the 11 months of this year, the total number of cars sold by BYD exceeds the 66 vehicles mark, an increase of 272% compared to last year.

According to Alexandry Baldy, senior vice president of the brand in Brazil and head of sales and marketing at BYD Auto, with BYD hiring to generate jobs, the objective is to strengthen the brand among the three best-selling brands in the country over the next five years.

Jobs at BYD are also created at the factory construction sites

Considered BYD's largest factory outside of China, the unit under construction officially began construction less than nine months ago and is progressing at a fast pace, generating jobs at BYD.

Phase 1.1 of the automotive industry project includes the warehouse for assembling cars in the SKD system (Semi Knocked Down), the final inspection plant and the speed and obstacle test tracks. Completion of this phase is scheduled to begin after this year's carnival.

Next, the works, which will create several jobs at BYD, will focus on phase 1.2, which includes the production of electric and hybrid vehicles and will have 28 new buildings and 2 yards. Full production of the models is expected to begin in 2025.
