Return of the Onix Activ expands Chevrolet’s 2027 lineup in Brazil with raised suspension, 1.0 turbo flex engine, automatic transmission, updated connectivity package, and new version distribution, according to information released by specialized vehicles and data attributed to the brand.

Chevrolet Onix Activ 2027 will return to the Brazilian market after seven years out of the catalog, with arrival expected at dealerships in the coming weeks and a suggested retail price of R$ 116,190, according to information attributed to the brand’s table.

The adventurous configuration of the compact hatch had its value initially disclosed by WM1 and later confirmed by Autoesporte, within the update of the 2027 Onix lineup for the Brazilian market.

In the reorganization of the range, Chevrolet is expected to remove the LT and LTZ versions from the portfolio, currently announced on the brand’s website for R$ 120,990 and R$ 126,190, respectively, according to the values cited in the original report.

The change in the offer reduces the price overlap between close versions and opens commercial space for the return of the Activ, which will occupy a range below more expensive configurations of the hatch.

In addition to the Onix Activ, the 2027 lineup will also have a configuration called Eco, powered only by ethanol, which will be applied to both the hatch and the Onix Plus sedan, according to the information released.

This version will use a 1.0 turbo engine fueled exclusively with ethanol and a six-speed automatic transmission, with a suggested price of R$ 103,190 for the hatch and R$ 106,990 for the sedan.

Chevrolet Onix Activ 2027 will have raised suspension and unique appearance

The Onix Activ 2027 resumes the adventurous proposal previously used by Chevrolet in the hatch, now with raised suspension, specific external alterations, and finishing components aimed at visual differentiation of the version.

In the first official image released, the model appears with darkened details on the rear and sides, as well as elements that separate the Activ configuration from the conventional Onix versions.

The body will also have slightly shortened front and rear bumpers, a change that, according to the technical data provided, improves the approach and departure angles compared to other configurations.

With these changes, the new Onix Activ becomes 0.6 cm shorter in length and measures 4.16 meters, maintaining proportions close to other versions of the compact hatch.

The wheels will be alloy, will have 16 inches, and will receive exclusive darkened finish, a feature used by Chevrolet to differentiate the version within the 2027 Onix lineup.

The elevation of the suspension and the adoption of roof racks also change the external dimensions of the model, whose height increases by 6.1 cm and reaches 1.53 meters.

The ground clearance will be 20.1 cm, while the reported angles are 19.7° approach and 28.1° departure, numbers associated with the proposal for use on uneven roads.

Width and wheelbase should remain the same as the conventional versions, with 1.75 meters in width and 2.55 meters in wheelbase, according to the data released for the configuration.

Onix Activ 2027 equipment includes digital screens and native wi-fi

The Chevrolet Onix Activ 2027 package includes comfort, connectivity, and safety items, among them full-LED headlights, black stickers on the C-pillar, darkened Chevrolet bowtie, black roof rack, and front grille with darkened details.

The version will also feature keyless entry and push-button start, while the cabin will have sporty front seats, black interior finish, and a sporty steering wheel with premium covering.

Among the daily use equipment, the list includes a rearview camera, digital air conditioning, and six airbags, a set that makes up the package informed for the new adventurous hatch configuration.

In terms of connectivity, the Onix Activ will come with an 8-inch digital instrument panel, an 11-inch multimedia center, and native wi-fi, a feature offered by Chevrolet in recent models in Brazil.

In terms of safety, the configuration will have a rear parking sensor, tire pressure monitoring system, and electronic traction and stability controls, according to the equipment list assigned to the version.

The package also includes emergency braking alert, automatic headlight activation, and speed limit controller, items aimed at driver assistance in urban and highway use.

1.0 turbo engine delivers 115 hp in the new Onix Activ

Under the hood, the Chevrolet Onix Activ 2027 will use the 1.0 turbo flex engine with 115 hp, a set already known in the Onix lineup and associated with the six-speed automatic transmission.

The engine delivers 16.8 kgfm of torque and will not have direct fuel injection, according to the technical information released for the new adventurous version.

The configuration maintains the mechanical base used in recent Onix versions but now combines it with elevated suspension, greater ground clearance, and specific external changes.

With this combination, Chevrolet positions the Activ as an option for the compact hatch for consumers seeking a higher body and a distinctive visual package, without changing the main architecture of the model.

Chevrolet Onix Activ consumption reaches 15.3 km/l

The consumption data attributed to the National Institute of Metrology, Quality, and Technology indicate different averages depending on the fuel used in the Chevrolet Onix Activ 2027.

With ethanol, the hatch records 8.6 km/l in the city and 12.1 km/l on the highway, according to the numbers reported for the version equipped with a 1.0 turbo engine and automatic transmission.

When fueled with gasoline, the model achieves 10.9 km/l in urban cycle and 15.3 km/l on the highway, performance that corresponds to the data cited for the 2027 line.

These numbers depend on usage conditions, type of route, vehicle maintenance, and driving mode, as occurs in measurement standards and the everyday use of any automobile.

Oil-bathed belt receives new formulation and extended warranty

Chevrolet also made changes to the timing belt used in the brand’s three-cylinder engines, a component that continues to be oil-bathed, but received a new chemical formulation of the rubber.

According to the manufacturer, the update aims to increase the item’s resistance and is part of the latest evolution of the system, which depends on the use of the correct lubricant to preserve the expected durability.

The brand informs that the oil must follow the specification described in the Owner’s Manual, guidance maintained as an important condition for the proper functioning of the mechanical set.

The belt’s warranty has been extended to 15 years, while the vehicle’s coverage is 5 years, according to the information released by Chevrolet for models equipped with this system.

The change in the component’s coverage occurs after reports of premature wear made by owners in previous years, a topic that led the manufacturer to reinforce maintenance and lubrication guidelines.

2027 line changes the Onix offering in Brazil

With the return of the Activ, Chevrolet changes the distribution of the Onix line in Brazil and starts offering a version with raised suspension, greater ground clearance, and its own external finish.

The removal of the LT and LTZ versions, as reported in the original article, makes the range more streamlined and reduces the price proximity between configurations that could compete for the same audience.

At the same time, the arrival of the Eco version adds an option powered only by ethanol for the hatch and the Onix Plus sedan, both with a 1.0 turbo engine and automatic transmission.

In the 2027 lineup, the Onix Activ now includes a turbo engine, automatic transmission, digital screens, native Wi-Fi, a safety package, and an extended warranty for the oil-bathed belt.

The set of changes announced for the lineup indicates a new organization of Chevrolet’s catalog, with the Activ occupying the entry-level position among the versions with an adventurous look and greater ground clearance.
