According to NSC Total, the construction by the Joinville City Hall over the Itaum River is 182 meters, or 200 with the abutments, and will have 72 pieces. The bridge and the requalification of the access roads total R$ 44 million, and traffic is expected to be released in April 2027.

The construction of the Anêmonas bridge in Joinville, Santa Catarina, entered a new phase on June 19, 2026, with the launch of the first beams from another side of the project, using a 50-meter arm crane. The information comes from NSC Total, which monitors the project managed by the Joinville City Hall, now at the Anêmonas street abutment, in the Guanabara neighborhood.

The installation of the pieces had already started on the other side and now progresses on the opposite end. According to NSC Total, the structure built over the Itaum River is 182 meters long, reaching 200 meters with the abutments, and will feature 72 pieces. The contractual completion forecast is January 2027, but the release to traffic is expected in April of that year, and combined, the bridge and the requalification of the access roads amount to R$ 44 million.

The new stage of the bridge began at the Anêmonas street abutment, in the Guanabara neighborhood. The launch of the first beams on this side uses a crane with a 50-meter arm, after installation had already started from Esteves Júnior street, in the Fátima neighborhood, where the pieces began to be placed earlier.

The beams of this section are the largest in the entire structure. The pieces launched from Anêmonas Street are 17.90 meters, the longest span among the three models used in the project, and the bridge will have a total of 72 pieces. On the Esteves side, where the work is more advanced, the concreting of the slab begins this weekend.

Built over the Itaum River, the Anêmonas bridge is of considerable size. It is 182 meters long, a number that rises to 200 meters when the abutments are included, in a curved layout that connects the two banks.

The construction method relies on ready-made pieces to speed up assembly. The project uses pre-molded concrete pieces, which are then transported and hoisted to their final position, and the 17.90-meter beams on the Anêmonas Street side are the longest among the three models that make up the bridge.

The deadline and the cost of R$ 44 million

The delivery of the bridge has two different dates on the horizon. The contractual forecast is that the project will be completed in January 2027, but the opening to traffic should only happen in April 2027, when the requalification works of the access roads are expected to be completed, a service that runs under a separate contract.

The announced value covers more than just the structure over the river. Combined, the two projects, the bridge and the requalification of the access roads, amount to R$ 44 million. Therefore, the figure does not refer only to the bridge itself but includes the improvements to the roads that will connect the new crossing to the surrounding streets.

The change in traffic direction between neighborhoods

When completed, the bridge will operate in one-way traffic. The crossing is part of a binary system formed with Guanabara Street, and the Anêmonas bridge should receive the direction from the neighborhood to the Center, while Guanabara will have the opposite flow.

The logic behind the design is to ease the connection between neighborhoods. The arrangement aims to reduce bottlenecks in the connections between the two regions, facilitating the daily commute of those crossing the area. The change in traffic direction is one of the main practical effects expected with the new bridge.

The Anêmonas Bridge, built over the Itaum River in Joinville, is progressing to become a new traffic axis between neighborhoods, and the launch of the beams by the 50-meter crane marks one of its most visible stages.

The contractual completion is scheduled for January 2027 and the opening to traffic for April 2027, while the construction and the upgrading of access roads together amount to R$ 44 million, a value that covers both fronts and not just the structure.

For Joinville, the project promises to facilitate the connection between Anêmonas and Guanabara streets and eliminate the bottlenecks that currently mark the route.

And you, what do you expect from the new Anêmonas Bridge and the change in traffic direction? Do you think the construction will improve travel between the neighborhoods of Joinville? Share your opinion and exchange ideas with other readers, respecting different opinions.
