RJ Extends Deadline for Tax Treatment for Steel Companies
The State Government extended the deadline for the special tax treatment for steel companies in RJ until 2032, through the Structural Investment Attraction Program (RioInvest). This is stipulated in the law approved by Governor Cláudio Castro and published in the DOU in May.
The measure updates the legislation on the subject and aims to ensure greater competitiveness for the sector, generating more jobs and income for the entire state. Castro claims that the law developed by the Executive Power ensures equal treatment for companies in the sector in RJ compared to other regions of Brazil.
In practice, the government is implementing an initiative that, in addition to making the sector more competitive, will contribute to generating even more jobs and income for the state, boosting the economy of Rio de Janeiro. The RioInvest guarantees tax incentives for industrial enterprises, subsidizing the purchase of goods and supplies. The regulation published this Friday updates the legislation on the subject, which previously provided for the validity of incentives only until 2026.
