Inauguration Event Featured the Participation of Authorities from the Brazilian Navy and Other Companies Involved in the Naval Construction Project of the Tamandaré Class Frigates at the Oceana Shipyard in Itajaí – SC
The Naval Project Management Company of the Brazilian Navy (Emgepron) held the inauguration of its base located in Itajaí – SC, to oversee the development and execution of the construction project for the Tamandaré Class ships (frigates) at the Oceana shipyard. Itajaí is already nationally recognized as the capital of naval construction and is expected to soon become a reference point in Latin America.

The inauguration ceremony took place last Friday (14) and was attended by executives from the Brazilian Navy, EMGEPRON, and the Águas Azuis Consortium, which includes companies such as Thyssenkrupp Marine Systems, Embraer, and Atech, among other representatives.
The contract for the naval construction of four vessels at the Oceana shipyard was signed by the Brazilian Navy and the Águas Azuis consortium. The project is valued at over 6 billion reais, with expectations to generate 2,000 direct jobs and about 6,000 indirect jobs at peak production.

German Multinational Thyssenkrupp Marine Systems Signed Agreement for Control of the Oceana Shipyard and Will Oversee the Naval Construction of the Brazilian Navy’s Frigates
In May of this year, the contract was signed between Thyssenkrupp Marine Systems and the company Aliança S.A., which belongs to the CBO Group, for the acquisition of the Oceana shipyard in Itajaí. The agreement involves the commencement of the construction project for the Tamandaré Class frigates for the Brazilian Navy, and also consolidates the multinational’s presence in the country’s naval construction industry.
Thyssenkrupp also already has an office in the city and is assembling its leadership team, hiring professionals from various fields, including some who are already working on the development of the naval construction of the frigates.
