Apple Issued a Statement Warning That Users Should Not Charge Their Phones Near Them While They Sleep. This Practice Is Quite Common Among All Smartphone Users.
A statement released by the American giant Apple, maker of the iPhones, claims that users of the model should not sleep with their phones close to their bodies while these devices are charging.
Many Accidents Can Occur
Countless accidents can occur if this instruction is neglected, such as electric shock, injuries, or damage to the device. Apple also emphasizes, in this statement, that among the potential dangers associated with this practice is even the risk of fire.
Additionally, the American company advises its customers not to place their phones, for example, under blankets, pillows, or in direct contact with the skin during the charging process.

Apple Advises: Devices in a Ventilated Area
According to Apple, instead, the tip is to place the phone in a well-ventilated area. This helps prevent the devices from overheating, a problem reported by many iPhone users.
Deaths from Shock in Brazil
This warning from Apple is not without reason, being an important preventive measure for user safety and to avoid electricity-related accidents.
This occurs because, according to data from the Brazilian Association for Electrical Safety Awareness (Abracopel), in 2022, 592 people lost their lives due to electric shocks in Brazil, while 874 incidents of fire due to electrical origin were recorded during the same period.
In this sense, a warning from the National Telecommunications Agency (Anatel) aligns with Apple’s statement.
“Do not recharge the device’s battery in confined spaces, such as bags, suitcases, drawers, boxes, pants pockets, etc. The charging process generates heat, and charging in confined spaces prevents heat dissipation into the environment. Battery overheating can result in fire or explosion”, says the agency.
