Exploring Business Connections at the Conference in Glasgow, and Opportunities for Brazilian Companies with Technology.
In today’s global business landscape, opportunities for expansion and collaboration are essential for the sustainable growth of a company with global ambitions. Recently, I had the chance to speak with Russell Dalgleish and Steven Turner, two influential figures in the United Kingdom, in Glasgow, Scotland. During our meeting, we explored the fascinating details of the Scottish Business Network (SBN) project and its vital role in connecting global enterprises to opportunities in Scotland and the UK through the GEP – Global Entrepreneurship Programme of the UK Government.
The Scottish Business Network: Innovation in the Business Landscape and Opportunities in the United Kingdom
The Scottish Business Network is an innovative initiative that acts as a link between global business enterprises and the opportunities available in Scotland and the UK. Through a collaborative and proactive approach, the SBN facilitates connections between international companies and the vibrant British business ecosystem. This can provide ways for companies to establish themselves in the UK, expanding their capacity in the global market, obtaining investments, among other expansion matters, and the most amazing part is that it comes at no cost to those interested, as long as the company presents a viable project on a global scale.
The GEP-GREAT Programme: Comprehensive Support for International Entrepreneurs.
A fundamental part of this experience is the GEP-GREAT programme, launched by the UK Department for Business and Trade. The GEP (Global Entrepreneurship Programme) offers free support and mentoring to international entrepreneurs, assisting them in creating and expanding businesses from a global headquarters in the UK. This includes mentoring, strategic connections, guidance for international expansion, and ongoing support. Participants are guided by experienced entrepreneurs known as ‘dealmakers’, with Russell Dalgleish being one of the dealmakers of this programme. After moving to the UK, the programme continues to support businesses through the Alumni Academy Programme, aiming at capability development, expansion, and connections within the British tech ecosystem. The goal is to enhance the global presence of companies and provide comprehensive support for their growth in the global market, connecting British technologies that can be leveraged worldwide.

Innovative Perspectives: Scotland’s Contribution to Artificial Intelligence
