According to Petrobras, ten trucks were used to transport the supercomputer’s material. In comparison to common technologies, it equals about four million mobile phones or one hundred thousand modern laptops in processing capacity.
In addition, the technology will meet the current needs of a large part of the geophysical data processing of the company. Algorithms developed by geophysicists and systems analysts will be used, enabling image generation.
The assembly process of the supercomputer may take up to three months, going through final adjustments, software installation, and assisted operation. According to Petrobras, the start of full production operation is scheduled for the second half of 2021.
