Businessman Jonas Stefanello Lost Control of the Porsche Cayman on BR-386, Between Carazinho and Sarandi, Just Two Hours After Acquiring the Vehicle
A serious accident on BR-386, between Carazinho and Sarandi, in the north of Rio Grande do Sul, ended in tragedy this Thursday (9/4). Businessman Jonas Stefanello, 45 years old, died after losing control of a Porsche Cayman. The vehicle had been purchased just a few hours earlier.
According to the Federal Highway Police (PRF), Jonas picked up the car around noon in Rondinha.
About two hours later, at 2:30 PM, the accident occurred near the old toll booth on the highway. The super sports car was completely destroyed upon impact.

Highway Blockage
The accident quickly mobilized the authorities. The PRF cordoned off the area and provided first aid.
In addition, the General Institute of Forensic Science (IGP) was called in for technical assessments. The roadway needed to be partially blocked during the work, causing traffic delays.
Circumstances Under Investigation
The exact causes of the loss of control have not yet been clarified. The PRF reported that the circumstances of the accident remain under investigation.
Therefore, only after the conclusion of the forensic examination will it be possible to understand what led to the tragedy.
The case generated great commotion in the region, as Jonas was known as an active businessman. The sequence of events draws attention because the accident occurred just hours after the car was purchased, amplifying the impact of the tragedy.
Who Was the Businessman?

The driver who died after losing control of the Porsche Cayman on BR-386 was identified as Jonas Stefanello, 45 years old. According to the Federal Highway Police (PRF), he had picked up the vehicle just two hours before the accident.
A native of Ibirubá, Jonas was the son of Jânio Vital Stefanello, president of the cooperative Coprel. He had celebrated his birthday two days before the tragedy. The cooperative publicly mourned the loss on its official social media.
“With an easy smile and unique charisma, Jonas had a great ability to make friends and was known for his laid-back and cheerful demeanor. His contagious energy marked the places he visited,” highlighted the note from Coprel.
The accident happened at km 166 of BR-386, in Carazinho. The vehicle left the roadway at high speed, according to preliminary information.
In addition to being a businessman, Jonas was a co-owner of sports courts, places that became a reference for gatherings, socializing, and promoting sports activities. “Making these spaces a meeting point for friendships, community, and encouragement for sports,” the cooperative added.
Information about the wake and burial has not yet been disclosed by the family. Jonas leaves behind a wife and a 9-year-old daughter, a fact that intensified the sadness among friends, family, and residents of the region.
