The CPG Published Some Incorrect Information Earlier, And At The Request Of The McDermott Press Office, Here Is The Official Correction Petrobras

Regarding the news published on this news site on 04/24/2020 under the title “To Conclude Petrobras Project, One Of The World’s Largest Launch Vessels Will Arrive In Brazil On The 28th,” concerning the arrival of the vessel DLV 2000 to complete the launch of the gas pipeline for the Rota 3 project, McDermott, the owner of the vessel.

McDermott clarifies that Locar is its partner in the offshore installation of the Rota 3 gas pipeline and that the shallowest section of the project, including the section of directional drilling and beach landing, has already been successfully installed by the vessel Locar Pipe.

For the deeper end of this section, both companies understood that using McDermott’s vessel was a good alternative and would be fully aligned with the business strategy of the companies.

The decision to complete the installation with the DLV 2000 vessel was due to future commitments of the Locarpipe crane barge.

It should also be clarified that McDermott and Locar will continue working together with a spirit of partnership in executing the Rota 3 project.

It should also be clarified that CPG based its information on reports from unofficial sources involved in the project and, due to our misunderstanding, we did not consult the press office or the management of McDermott to validate the data in the previous article (which has already been removed).
