IFSP informs that priority will be given to candidates living in the region where the class will be offered, which seeks to bring the training closer to local networks of protection, information, and support for women.
In-person course in eight cities of São Paulo
In the state of São Paulo, the classes will be distributed among the campuses Itapetininga, Hortolândia, Jundiaí, Campos do Jordão, Jacareí, Bragança Paulista, Pirituba, and Presidente Prudente.
The total offer is up to 320 spots, which corresponds to 40 places per class, always in an in-person format and with schedules defined according to each unit.
Although the immediate focus is on the training of participants, the proposal is not limited to classroom content.
According to the institutional description of the project, the initiative was designed to prepare women to act in their territories with information about rights, prevention of gender violence, access to justice, and strengthening community support networks.
This action is part of the project Training and Regional Action for the End of Violence against Women, aligned with the national policy to combat violence against women.
At the national level, the program brings together six federal institutes and aims to train more than a thousand women throughout 2026, with an investment of R$ 6 million, according to the Ministry of Women.
R$ 300 scholarship and criteria to receive the aid
The scholarship payment will not be automatic for all selected candidates.
According to the information released by IFSP, the approved candidate will need to self-declare as being in a situation of vulnerability and/or social risk, complete the enrollment with the required documentation, and maintain regular attendance in classes to be entitled to the monthly financial aid of R$ 300.
In the campus publication detailing the announcement, the institute also informs that the students benefiting from the aid must maintain a minimum attendance of 75%.
The same material states that the 40 spots in the local class are filled on a first-come, first-served basis, a criterion that tends to be decisive for the advancement of applications when the documentation is submitted correctly.
This design reinforces two central points of the selection.
The first is the social nature of the scholarship, aimed at those in more vulnerable situations.
The second is the requirement for effective participation in the course, as the aid is conditioned not only on approval but also on compliance with enrollment and participation rules.
Who can participate and how the reservation of spots works
The announcement also establishes affirmative actions for the composition of the classes.
There is a 5% reservation of spots for people with disabilities and 25% for black, brown, indigenous, and quilombola candidates, according to the criteria disclosed by IFSP.
In addition to the minimum age and availability to participate in activities, the institution emphasizes that the course is designed for women interested in expanding their knowledge about rights and strengthening their roles in their communities.
The pedagogical proposal includes topics such as Maria da Penha Law, gender violence, human rights, public policies, women’s health, sexual and reproductive rights, structural racism, and labor rights, always based on popular education methodologies.
In practice, this means that the training combines theoretical content with participatory activities, such as workshops, discussion circles, case studies, and community actions.
The goal is for the students not only to receive information but to develop tools to guide other women, identify services in the protection network, and act as multipliers in their own territories.
National partnership expands the reach of training
The course offered by IFSP in São Paulo is part of a national initiative conducted in partnership with the Ministry of Women.
The ministry states that the expansion of the project aims to strengthen the prevention of gender violence, increase women’s access to information about rights, and support the formation of community leaders in different regions of the country.
The overall coordination of the action is with IFSP, through the Hortolândia campus, which has been developing similar experiences in previous years.
This history was pointed out by the ministry itself as one of the bases for the expansion of the program, now structured in dozens of classes and coordinated with other federal institutes.
In the case of São Paulo, the in-person offering in eight cities expands the territorial reach of the project and facilitates access for residents of different regions of the state.
Nevertheless, the announcement makes it clear that preference is given to candidates from the area of coverage of each unit, which helps maintain the link between education and the concrete demands of each community.
How to apply for the IFSP course
Applications must be made online until April 21, 2026, through a online form provided by IFSP for candidates from the state of São Paulo.
The process is free, and the basic documentation required includes identity document, such as RG, CNH, or CTPS, as well as CPF.
In cases provided for in affirmative actions, the announcement also requests specific proofs, such as a report for a PcD vacancy or corresponding documents for quilombola candidates.
