Brazilian automotive market maintains strong pace in April 2026 with consolidated leadership, SUV growth, and unexpected prominence of electric models in the national ranking
The Brazilian automotive market remains heated in 2026, and April’s numbers clearly confirm this trend. The information was released by “Mundo do Automóvel para PCD,” based on data from Bright Consulting, revealing a competitive scenario but with extremely consolidated leadership. In this context, the Fiat Strada once again appears as the absolute protagonist among the best-selling cars in Brazil.
Right from the start, the expressive sales volume of Fiat’s pickup truck stands out. In total, 14,910 units were registered in April 2026 alone. This number is even more impressive when compared to the second-place finisher, as the Strada practically doubles the sales volume of its closest competitor. Thus, the model reaffirms its hegemony and consistency over the past few years.
Fiat dominates ranking while SUVs and electric vehicles gain ground

In second place in the ranking of best-selling cars in April 2026 is the Fiat Argo, which registered 7,991 units. Following it, the Chevrolet Onix appears with 7,847 units, maintaining its historical relevance in the Brazilian market.

A large part of the Netherlands lies below sea level and remains dry only because an invisible machine of dikes, pumps, and giant gates works nonstop, a system born from the tragedy of 1953, when the North Sea invaded the country and killed 1,836 people.

The largest bridge in Finland has just been inaugurated and cars simply cannot pass on it; only trams, bicycles, and pedestrians are allowed to cross the 1.2 km giant with a 135-meter pillar over the Baltic Sea.
-
Larger than Belgium and nestled at the mouth of the Amazon, Marajó Island is a giant that Brazil has forgotten, surrounded by water and energy on all sides, yet still isolated, poor, and dependent on diesel brought by barge.

Weighing as much as nine nuclear aircraft carriers, the Pioneering Spirit is the largest ship ever built and was made for a single task that no other machine in the world can accomplish: removing entire oil platforms from the seabed of the North Sea in one go.
Soon after, the Volkswagen T-Cross stands out as the best-selling SUV of the period, with 7,810 units sold. This data reinforces an important trend: the constant growth of sport utility vehicles in the taste of Brazilian consumers. Furthermore, the Hyundai Creta also maintains solid performance, with 7,649 registrations, consolidating its position among the country’s main SUVs.
Another point worth highlighting is the presence of the BYD Dolphin Mini, which reached 6,873 units. This result is noteworthy, especially as it is an electric model, demonstrating the growing acceptance of this type of vehicle in Brazil. Therefore, electrification is beginning to gain real traction in the national ranking.
Next, the Hyundai HB20 registers 6,764 units, maintaining its relevance in the hatchback segment. Soon after, the Volkswagen Saveiro appears with 6,457 units, and the Renault Kwid with 6,453 units, both with very close numbers and competing for positions in the ranking.
