New Investments for Bahia’s Solar Energy Market This Time Involve Soltec and Focus Energia
Focus Energia, which operates in the commercialization and generation of solar energy in the renewable market, signed a contract with the Spanish Soltec Power Holdings for the acquisition of equipment for a photovoltaic project in Brazil, more specifically in Bahia, the European company said in a statement this Friday.

The agreement involving the supply by Soltec Power of so-called solar trackers, which allow the panels of a plant to follow the movement of the sun throughout the day in order to increase productivity.
Soltec stated that it will supply Focus Energia with 852 megawatts in trackers, and that the installation phase of the project in Bahia is scheduled to begin in July 2021.

The trackers to be supplied to Focus Energia are of the bifacial type for the project in Bahia and will meet the first phase of the solar power enterprise, which has potential for future expansions, according to the supplier.
Soltec stated in a note that it has already closed agreements to supply 2.2 gigawatts in solar trackers in Brazil, out of a total of 8.4 gigawatts in such equipment negotiated by the company worldwide. The manufacturer is headquartered in Molina de Segura, Murcia, Spain.
Focus Energia Raises More Than R$ 700 Million in Solar Energy Projects
Focus Energia, which raised about 765 million reais in an initial public offering in February, plans to build solar power plants to sell the production in the so-called free electricity market, where large companies like industries negotiate energy supply contracts directly with suppliers.
Focus Energia’s strategy includes the construction of a solar energy project named Futura in Bahia, which would have a potential capacity of up to 3 gigawatts.
