BWX Technologies Secures US$ 2.1 Billion Contracts to Manufacture Nuclear Reactors for U.S. Navy Submarines and Aircraft Carriers

BWX Technologies (BWXT) has secured contracts estimated at around US$ 2.1 billion for the U.S. Navy’s Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program. This robust investment aims to manufacture nuclear reactor components for Columbia and Virginia class submarines, as well as Ford class aircraft carriers.

Production will take place at facilities located in Lynchburg, Virginia, Barberton and Euclid in Ohio, and Mount Vernon, Indiana. The project will last seven years, starting in 2023.

This contract reinforces the history of cooperation between BWXT and the U.S. Navy, consolidating over 70 years of partnership in the development of naval nuclear technology.
