IBS Energy Secures Contract with PowerChina to Provide Engineering Services and Activate the Biomass Power Plant.
IBS Energy is an energy management and biomass company that is part of the IBS group. The partnership with PowerChina will strengthen the civil industry by providing engineering services and the famous EPCs – Collective Protective Equipment and activating the biomass-fired power plant.

It appears that this contract will be for a pioneering project of an 80 MW biomass-fired power plant in Brazil – which could further benefit the Brazilian economy and generate new job opportunities in the industry and construction sector.
The company reported that it received the request from Sepco1 Construções do Brasil Ltda, a unit of the Chinese giant. IBS Energy hopes to innovate in the biomass power plant project, which will be implemented later this year, in July 2020.

Investments for the Industry and Construction Sector
In addition, to get the project off the ground, the group has partnered with the Chinese giant PowerChina, which will provide engineering and construction services. In total, the project is expected to require investments of R$ 600 million, with R$ 400 million for construction and the rest for biomass acquisition.
Covering an area of 121,000 m² (1,302,433 square feet), the Termelétrica Cidade do Livro SA will generate energy through the direct combustion of biomass in a fluidized bed steam boiler. With two 40 MW generators, the facility’s output will be equivalent to the electricity demand of 130,000 local homes, the company noted.
