Awakening solar power: Brazilian consumers now in control of their own energy

SolarEdge Technologies, pioneer in the universe of Smart Energy solutions, celebrates the launch in Brazil of SolarEdge Home, an innovative range of products for residential energy management. This portfolio, comprising Home Hub and Home Wave inverters, Power Optimizer, Battery, Backup Interface and a state-of-the-art operating system, empowers homeowners to increase their savings and energy self-sufficiency by optimizing production, consumption and storage of solar energy.

The dawn of a new energy era

“The main driver for the adoption of solar energy in homes is the significant savings in energy bills, which can achieve an impressive reduction of up to 90%”, says Juliano Pereira, Country Manager at SolarEdge in Brazil. He goes on to say, “We strongly believe that smart energy management is crucial in a scenario where electricity costs and consumption are on the rise. Innovations capable of synchronizing diverse energy sources, variable consumption and battery storage are vital to guarantee independence and sustainability in the future”.

Designed to maximize solar energy capture with power optimizer technology (Coupled Direct Current), the system stores more energy in the battery to power the house and ensure backup during any power outages. Through an intuitive application called mySolarEdge, users can manage and monitor their solar energy usage, their energy savings and the consequent reduction of carbon emissions in their homes.

Power and efficiency in the heart of the home

Available for single-phase applications, the SolarEdge Home battery, with a power of 5 kW and useful energy of 9.7kWh, can be connected to up to three batteries per inverter, providing energy of up to 29.1kWh for the home. The battery's extremely efficient design, when connected to photovoltaic modules (DC Coupled), requires only one energy conversion during the storage and use process, and the oversizing of up to 200% reduces clipping losses, further increasing the system's efficiency.

SolarEdge offers two types of battery-compatible solutions: Home Wave, aimed at improving self-consumption, and Home Hub, focused on backup.

For installers, the SolarEdge Home series is designed to simplify installation, from design to commissioning, while also enabling a reduction in installation time thanks to plug-and-play wireless connectivity.

The flexibility of the SolarEdge Home ecosystem allows homeowners to add future equipment and other features as their needs evolve and change, ensuring a truly adaptable, long-term energy solution.
