Strategic Objective Of The Project
The concession is part of the Federal Government’s plan to modernize logistics in the Midwest. The Ministry of Transport and the National Land Transport Agency (ANTT) are leading the initiative.
The most important aspect is that this stretch is considered one of the main corridors for agribusiness transportation. Daily, thousands of tons of soybeans, corn, meats, and agricultural inputs travel along BR-060 and BR-364. This makes the route vital for the national economy, connecting producers to consumption centers and export ports.
Planned Works And Infrastructure
The project includes structural interventions that should change the circulation pattern:
- 45.6 km of duplication
- 150.9 km of additional lanes
- 172 new access points
- 30 bus stops
- 17 extended roundabouts
- 21 wildlife crossings
- 2 Truck Rest Areas, in compliance with the Driver’s Law
- acoustic barriers, walkways, and devices for hazardous cargo
In addition to the construction works, the concession ensures 24-hour operational services, including medical assistance and mechanic services, monitoring by cameras, and intelligent traffic management systems.
Tight Competition And Financial Guarantees
The auction was decided in the live auction phase after 22 bids. The obtained discount represents the most advantageous proposal for the toll rate.
The investment plan anticipates R$ 4.4 billion in CAPEX and R$ 2.8 billion in OPEX. These amounts ensure the financial and operational sustainability of the concession throughout the entire contract.
Expected Impacts On The Region
The modernization of the roads is expected to reduce travel time, cut logistical costs, and increase safety. The expectation is to benefit producers, transporters, industries, and consumers.
With faster and safer highways, the movement of goods between the Midwest and the Southeast and North ports will be more efficient. This is likely to strengthen Brazil’s competitiveness in the international food trade.
ANTT Statement
The general director of ANTT, Guilherme Theo Sampaio, highlighted the relevance of the auction. He stated that conducting auctions at B3 has become a constant practice for the Agency.
According to Sampaio, the initiative results from a push from the Minister of Transport, Renan Filho, to increase investments. He recalled starting his professional journey in Rondonópolis, discussing better conditions for truck drivers.
The general director emphasized that the duplication, operational services, and the planned Truck Rest Areas will ensure modern infrastructure and workplace safety. “I am sure that the consortium will do a magnificent job, with great partnership in the execution and monitoring of the works by ANTT. Goiás and Mato Grosso will positively feel these investments,” he stated.
Part Of A National Program
The Rota Agro Brasil concession is part of the Federal Government’s auction program. This is already the fifth auction held this year. The goal is to expand and modernize the country’s road network.
All projects go through viability studies by BNDES, analysis by the Federal Attorney’s Office together with ANTT, and approval by the Federal Court of Accounts. The technical and environmental care is presented as a guarantee that the works and services will be executed with quality and responsibility.
