The National Electric Energy Agency (Aneel) approved the auction notice for the transmission auction. The next auction will offer 2,470 kilometers of lines and 7,800 megavolt-amperes (MVA) in transformation capacity, which will take place on December 19. The projected investment is R$ 4.1 billion, generating 8,782 direct job vacancies. Speaking of energy, don’t miss the great opportunity to replace your appliances at half the price! The transmission lines are responsible for the path of energy to our homes. The auctions serve to enable concessions for new lines in the electric system.

In total, 12 lots will be auctioned in the states of Acre, Alagoas, Bahia, Ceará, Goiás, Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul, Minas Gerais, Pará, Rio de Janeiro, Rio Grande do Sul, and São Paulo.

The bidding process was intended to offer 43 projects, consisting of 25 transmission lines and 18 substations. The deadlines for completing the works vary from 36 to 60 months.

The projects in lots 1 to 9 and 12 are new and will be offered for the first time, while lot 10 originates from canceled concessions from the São Francisco Hydroelectric Company (Chesf), which had their concessions expired.

The winning companies of the bidding will sign 30-year concession contracts for the construction and future operation of the projects.

The auctions for new energy transmission projects in Brazil have attracted strong interest from investors in recent years, including large international electric companies like the Chinese State Grid and India’s Sterlite, as well as local companies like Equatorial Energia and Energisa.
