Have You Ever Imagined a Motorcycle That Costs Only R$ 4 Thousand and Promises to Conquer Brazil? Well, This Is About to Become a Reality with the Arrival of Bajaj Auto, One of the Largest Motorcycle Manufacturers in India, That Is Ready to Expand Its Empire in the Brazilian Territory.

Bajaj, known for selling motorcycles “like hotcakes” in India, will inaugurate its first factory outside the Asian country, located in Manaus, Amazonas. This novelty promises to shake up the Brazilian motorcycle market in a surprising and highly competitive way.

A New Factory in Manaus

The Bajaj production plant in Manaus is expected to begin operations in the second half of 2024. Initially, the factory will have the capacity to produce 20 thousand motorcycles per year.

This move is part of an ambitious strategy by the company to consolidate its global presence, especially in such a competitive market as Brazil.

Since arriving in Brazil at the end of 2022, Bajaj has already gained approximately 2 thousand customers, a significant number for a newcomer.

According to the company, the opening of its own factory will allow Bajaj to optimize production, reduce costs, and consequently offer more competitive prices.

Until then, the company used Dafra’s infrastructure to assemble its motorcycles in CKD (Complete Knock Down) mode.

Currently, Bajaj offers three main models in Brazil: Dominar 160, Dominar 200, and Dominar 400. Each of them caters to different consumer profiles, from those looking for a daily-use motorcycle to those who prefer a more sporty experience.

When it comes to engine and power, it is noted that despite the smaller engine (102 cc), the power of the Platina 100 is comparable to the Honda Pop 110i.

As for fuel efficiency, there is no competition. With an impressive 90 km/l, the Platina 100 stands out significantly in terms of fuel economy.

Finally, regarding weight, it is highlighted that the Platina 100 has a weight similar to its competitors, making it easier to ride in urban traffic.

Expansion and Future

In addition to the new factory, Bajaj is expanding its dealership network. Currently, it has stores in São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Brasília, and Florianópolis, and is in the process of opening new units in Belo Horizonte and Salvador.

According to the portal Vrum, this expansion is accompanied by a partnership with Âncora Consórcios to offer accessible financial solutions, further facilitating the acquisition of Bajaj motorcycles.

What Is the Outlook for the Future?

According to the portal Motociclismo Online, Bajaj, with its aggressive expansion strategy and new factory, is expected to not only increase its market share but also pressure traditional competitors, such as Honda and Yamaha, to improve their offerings.

Thus, it is noticeable that Bajaj’s arrival in Brazil may revolutionize the motorcycle market by bringing affordable models with high fuel efficiency.
