To Reduce Production Waste in Factories, Nike Will Also Sell Used Shoes or Those with Minor Manufacturing Defects

The American Nike, part of that rare group of multinationals renowned for revolutionizing their respective industries, works and innovates to reduce waste in factories and will start selling used shoes or those with minor manufacturing defects under a service called “Nike Refurbished.”

The service is already available in some stores in the United States and will soon be in 15 locations. The American multinational presents the initiative as an example of a circular economy.

Nike’s idea is to recover shoes returned by customers within 60 days of purchase, inspect them, and if the products can still be sold, they will be refurbished and manually disinfected.

According to the company, Nike Refurbished will have three categories: “Like New,” “Lightly Used,” and “With Cosmetic Defect” for shoes with manufacturing problems. The price will depend on the category.

Three thousand jobs for the Northeast! Governor Camilo Santana announced another million-dollar investment for the economy of the State of Ceará. Starting January 1, 2021, all manufacturing of the Mizuno brand will be done in the municipality of Horizonte, CE.

The company Vulcabras Azaleia, which acquired Mizuno’s operation in the Northeast, is a manufacturer of famous brands such as Olympikus, Under Armour, Opanka, and Dijean.

Vulcabras reached an agreement with Alpargatas worth R$ 32.5 million for the purchase of the business unit related to the Mizuno brand operation in Brazil, according to a relevant fact released by both companies on Monday (21). The company currently generates around 14,000 jobs in the country.
