The Dolphin car from JAC Motors is already in the testing phase in Brazil, according to information from the media outlet Auto+.
Previously a leader in the electric vehicle market in China, JAC has lost ground to other local brands. Now, the company is trying to regain its position with the launch of the sub-brand Yiwei. This new brand promises a more modern approach in terms of construction, a dedicated platform, and a more advanced operating system.
Scheduled to launch in Brazil in early 2024, the Yiwei’s main competitors will be the GWM Ora 03, which is priced between R$ 150,000 and R$ 184,000, and the BYD Dolphin, which entered the market starting at R$ 149,800 and has become the best-selling electric car in the country since its mid-year launch.

Introducing: JAC Yiwei 3
Inside, the JAC Yiwei 3 features a large 15.6′ floating central display, an operating system developed in partnership with Huawei, a fully digital instrument panel, wireless charging for mobile phones, and a two-spoke steering wheel with a flat bottom.
The compact vehicle is powered by a 70 kW (95 hp) electric motor, fueled by an LFP battery that provides a range of 405 km. There is also a more powerful version with 100 kW (136 hp) and a range of 505 km, according to the Chinese cycle, which is more optimistic than western standards. **The technology present inside the vehicle offers comfort and practicality for everyday use,**.
The JAC Yiwei 3 has dimensions of 4.02 meters in length, 1.77 meters in width, and 1.56 meters in height, with a wheelbase of 2.62 meters, providing considerable internal space for its category.
The visual highlight is the circular LED headlights and the rounded shape of the body. Moreover, the new electric car incorporates innovative solutions like retractable door handles and an exterior paint option with two tones, including a black roof, although the spotted unit has the roof in the same color as the rest of the body.
The latest electric vehicle from JAC was spotted during testing in Brazil. In an occasion reported by the Auto+ team, the new proposal from the Chinese manufacturer was seen without any disguise in a parking lot in São Paulo, also revealing its interior.
Of great importance to JAC Motors, the new Yiwei 3, which will likely have a different name here, was introduced in China around mid-year, being the first model to be created based on the new exclusive platform and marking the debut of the sub-brand Yiwei. This sub-brand will represent a new line of electric vehicles in practice.
