To give an idea of the certified grain volume, if it were transported by trucks, 3,400 vehicles would be required. The importance of the operation can also be measured by comparing it with common shipments of soy meal, which are usually accommodated for export on vessels of up to 60,000 tons, which is over 70% less.

“Bureau Veritas was born almost 200 years ago with the inspection of ships in Europe and has since become a global reference in the sector due to its solidity, quality of verification, and reliability. The Group is also a market leader in Brazil, holding 60% of the inspection market for soy meal, soybeans, and corn in the country, occupying a leading position in the segment”, highlights Claudio Fonseca, Operations Director of the Agri & Food Division.
The record soy inspection included the control and verification of the cargo at the time of grain shipment, assessing weight, condition, and quality of the goods. Among the specificities analyzed are moisture percentage, oil quantity, fiber content, and the sanitary condition of the product. Health authorities and the Federal Revenue Service monitored the examination.
The vessel came from the Port of Shanghai, China, to the bay of Paranaguá. The port in Paraná and the one in Vitória, Espírito Santo, are the only ones in Brazil with the logistical structure to load vessels the size of the Pacific South. The bulk carrier is 292 meters long and 45 meters wide, featuring nine hatches, while the average export vessels have five or seven hatches. After inspection, the cargo proceeds to Northern Europe.
