Notable Rise of Santa Catarina’s Economy Boosts the Realization of Logistique Fair 2023
The state government recently revealed its forecasts for the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of the last year, ending in March. The projected growth for Santa Catarina’s economy is an impressive 5%, far exceeding the national average of 3.3% between April of the previous year and March of the current year. These numbers highlight Santa Catarina above most federative states, also serving as a catalyst for Logistique – Logistics and Multimodal Cargo Transport Fair and Congress. Held in Joinville since 2008, this meeting is already recognized as one of the most relevant logistics events in the country.
Strong Growth of the Services and Trade Sectors
The promising results of Santa Catarina’s economy are significantly fueled by the advancement of the services sector, which recorded a 10.4% increase in the first quarter compared to the same period in 2022 – almost double the Brazilian average of 5.8%. Logistics services play a crucial role in this context. “The strength of the Santa Catarina economy and southern Brazil is critical for the success of Logistique, which expands and improves year after year,” says director Leonardo Rinaldi.
Trade also demonstrated a considerable contribution to the overall development of the economy. Expanded retail experienced a 7% growth compared to the same period of the previous year, surpassing more than double the Brazilian average of 3.3%. Agriculture also showed significant performance. With no major climatic complications, productivity evolved, providing additional advancement of agricultural volume.
