In addition to the authorization to begin construction of the water treatment and sewage treatment plants, the company president, José Roberto Barbosa da Silva, celebrated significant steps in the project, such as the recent signing of a contract that granted Petrocity authorized port status. “We are on the federal government’s radar as an authorized port and are receiving full support from the Ministry of Infrastructure and the Brazilian government,” he declared.
The president of Petrocity also stated that the beginning of these works is the critical path of the project and that the infrastructure and support works will provide the support for the installation of the yards, the bridge, and the port dock.
The National Agency of Waterway Transportation (Antac) carried out an evaluation of the technical data of the project and approved the granting process, publishing it in the Official Gazette; after that, the process returned to the Ministry of Infrastructure, which continued the process and granted the Port of São Mateus authorized port status.
Petrocity appreciated the participation of Infrastructure Minister Tarcísio Freitas, and the company is proud to be on the government’s radar as an authorized port and receiving full support from the Ministry of Infrastructure and the Brazilian government, according to its president.
The infrastructure works at the Port of São Mateus in Espírito Santo will require around 750 workers and are expected to last from 24 to 30 months.
“Within this timeframe of up to 30 months of work, we are working to ensure we have the port licensing so that, before the completion of the land works, we can begin the port construction,” Barbosa da Silva stated.
