New Sedan from Chevrolet, Chevrolet Aveo Sedan, Will Soon Arrive in the Automotive Market to End Sales of the Kwid and Onix. New Popular Car from Chevrolet with a Price Around R$ 80,000 promises to be the new sales leader, especially if it comes to the Brazilian market.
A General Motors confirmed the arrival of a new compact model for the Latin American market. The new Chevrolet sedan, which is theoretically positioned a step below the Chevrolet Onix, has been announced and is the new generation of the Chevrolet Aveo Sedan, a model that was sold here as Sonic and had a short career. The new popular car from Chevrolet is a subcompact that now also arrives in a hatchback version with a completely renewed design.
The headlights follow the trend of new models, and for this version, they are more horizontal. The front bumper has also undergone changes and features two openings that give the model a sporty look. It is worth noting that the model was announced to initially arrive in Mexico and may come to Brazil.
New Sedan from Chevrolet with 1.5 Naturally Aspirated Gasoline Engine Delivers 99 hp
The previous generation of the Chevrolet Aveo (which is still in line) costs the equivalent of R$ 70,000 in Mexico. It is the cheapest car from GM in the country, ahead of the Onix, which costs around R$ 80,000.

The new Renault Koleos has a screen exclusively for the passenger that is invisible to the driver, heated rear seats, and 29 assistance systems, but its Chinese competitors cost R$ 40,000 less and deliver more power.
If the new generation of the Chevrolet popular car is launched in Brazil with a competitive price, it could be an excellent choice to position itself below the Onix, taking the place of the discontinued Joy. It is certain that the new Chevrolet sedan will come equipped with power steering, a multimedia system, and driving assistants, adding value and technology.
The launch of this popular car is initially planned for Mexico, with expansion plans for other Latin American countries, such as Chile and Colombia. According to the Mexican press, the Aveo’s engine will be a four-cylinder 1.5 with 110 horsepower and 13.8 kgfm.
Originating from a Chinese project, similar to the Onix, the Aveo was already sold in China as SAIC/Wuling 310C. Besides the hatch version, there is also a sedan model that was recently presented.
It is important to note that the hatch version will come equipped with six airbags, automatic air conditioning, a rearview camera, disc brakes on all four wheels, and an 8-inch multimedia center compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
When Will the Chevrolet Aveo Arrive in the Brazilian Market?
The possibility of the Chevrolet Aveo Sedan 2024 arriving in the Brazilian market is an interesting prospect, especially considering Chevrolet’s strategy to renew and expand its product line in the country.
This model, already available in other markets like Mexico, is known for its competitive characteristics and affordable price, which could make it an attractive option for Brazilian consumers looking for an economical and well-equipped vehicle.
However, so far, Chevrolet has not officially confirmed the launch of the Aveo 2024 in Brazil. The introduction of this car in the national market will depend on several factors, including the brand’s response to local market demands and product positioning strategies against competitors. Moreover, it is important to remember that on January 24 of this year, the brand announced an investment of R$ 7 billion between 2024 and 2028 for production in Brazil.
The executives have left open the possibility of investing in hybrid models. “Our strategy is fully focused on what the consumer demands,” emphasized Shilpan Amin, president of GM International, who was in Brazil and met with the president Lula.
Design of the New Popular Car from Chevrolet Revealed!
Like the Onix, the Chevrolet Aveo has a project of Chinese origin. However, it was not born a Chevrolet, as the car is sold in China as SAIC/Wuling 310C, as previously mentioned. In fact, its first patent images had already been revealed earlier, along with the announcement of the start of production in China.

Although Wuling is a joint venture between SAIC and General Motors, the design of the new Chevrolet Aveo has a language close to other Chevrolet cars. However, the new Chevrolet hatch is completely different from the previous generation, a project from 2005.
The headlights, which were previously rounded, are now more horizontal and harmonize well with the chrome bar that cuts through the front grille. The front bumper has openings at the ends that add an extra sporty touch.
The rear is less flat, gaining a steeper slope and a crease in the middle of the trunk. The large taillights of the old model have given way to a more horizontal and narrow set, following the visual line of the front.
There are no images of the cabin, but it is possible to see a multimedia center highlighted on the dashboard. It would have options with 6 and 8 inches, depending on the version, and compatibility with Android Auto and Apple Carplay. The Aveo hatchback 2024 is already being manufactured in China by Wuling and has been available in Mexico since the first half of 2023.
Sedan Version of the Chevrolet Aveo Arrives in the Mexican Market
Presented in mid-February 2023 as a new entry option from Chevrolet in the compact sedan segment, the Aveo Sedan 2024 began its sales in Mexico on June 5. The new popular car from Chevrolet arrives imported from Tianjin, China, and is positioned as a cheaper alternative to the Onix Plus. Prices range from 285,900 to 334,900 pesos, which is around R$ 80,000 to R$ 93,000 in direct conversion.

Developed especially for emerging markets, the Chevrolet Aveo Sedan is a result of a closed partnership between General Motors and the Chinese group SAIC.
In the Mexican automotive market, Chevrolet’s popular car acts as a successor to the Classic and has as main rivals the Nissan V-Drive, Mitsubishi Mirage G4, and Hyundai Grand i10 Sedan.
On the outside, the lines of the model are relatively simple and not very daring. The front has rectangular headlights, a grille with a chrome strip, and a bumper with unpainted details. At the rear, highlights include horizontally positioned taillights divided by the trunk lid.
The interior features horizontal lines on the dashboard and blends different colors in the finishing, despite the simplicity of the materials. Under the hood, the 1.5 naturally aspirated gasoline engine of the model can deliver 99 hp of power and is the only option available. The transmission can be a 6-speed manual or CVT automatic.
