According to ANP, Petrobras’ Largest Refinery, Replan, Located in the Plateau of Paulínia, Produced the Highest Quantity of Oil Since 2015
The largest refinery that Petrobras has, Replan, recorded a significant increase in the production of petroleum derivatives such as gasoline, diesel, and cooking gas (LPG) in the month of April.
The increase occurred as the Replan refinery in Paulínia, SP, produced the highest volume of oil for Petrobras in April since 2015.
According to sources from ANP (National Agency of Oil, Natural Gas and Biofuels), Petrobras’ largest refinery produced about 1,912,038 cubic meters (m³) of oil refining, a 17.4% increase compared to April of last year. The total is only lower than the record in 2015, when 1,952,661 m³ were processed.

China has just discovered oil in rock layers that no one thought could be explored at the bottom of the South China Sea, and the field with over 100 million tons could change the balance of energy power in Asia.

Petrobras finds oil on the seabed in the Campos Basin, hundreds of kilometers off the coast of Rio, and the discovery in a deep area raises curiosity about what else may be hidden in the pre-salt and how much this new area could surprise Brazil in the coming years.

Petrobras announces a new discovery in the pre-salt layer of the Campos Basin in block C-M-477, 201 km off the coast of Rio and at a depth of 2,984 m, following indications from electrical profiles, gas, and samples collected during drilling.

Even before the first drilling on the Brazilian Equatorial Margin, a wave of migrants is pressuring Oiapoque, expanding precarious occupations and transforming the city of Amapá into the new epicenter of the oil rush in the Amazon.
As a result, Petrobras’ Replan refinery, which serves 30% of Brazilian territory, increased the production of petroleum derivatives during the period. The volume of cooking gas produced in April, at 142,754 m³, was the highest since 2013.
Regarding diesel, the petroleum derivative with the highest volume of production at the Replan refinery, totaled about 883,687 m³ in April, only second to the same month in 2015.
As for gasoline, 477,238 m³ represents the best result of Petrobras’ refinery for the month since 2018.

Petrobras Investments
Petrobras announced, at the beginning of May, the signing of a contract to build a new unit for producing S-10 diesel at the Replan refinery, where the diesel will be produced to help decarbonize the planet by blending it with common diesel.
The investment made by Petrobras will be US$ 458 million, and the company expects that the new construction will create around 6,000 job openings, 3,000 direct and 3,000 indirect. The inauguration of the new construction is scheduled for 2025.
The contract signed by Petrobras was established with the Toyo Setal HDT Paulínia Consortium, made up of the companies TSE and TOYO. The installation of the new generation unit for S-10 diesel will redefine diesel refining at Replan, in addition to increasing the production of aviation kerosene.
The S-500 type diesel, used in agricultural machinery and corresponding to about 47% of the conventional diesel produced today, will no longer be produced. The machinery of the new unit, as well as that of the existing unit, will be directed towards the production of S-10 diesel, with an increase in production until 2026.
Meet Replan, Petrobras’ Largest Refinery
As the largest refinery of Petrobras, Replan has a processing capacity of 69,000 m³ of oil daily, corresponding to approximately 434,000 barrels, serving 30% of Brazilian territory.
At Petrobras’ Replan, petroleum derivatives such as gasoline, liquefied petroleum gas, diesel, aviation kerosene, asphalt, fuel oil, propylene, bunker, among others, are produced.
The production from Replan is intended for the interior of São Paulo, which holds the largest share of Petrobras’ derivatives production, as well as for Sul de Minas, Mato Grosso, Triângulo Mineiro, Mato Grosso do Sul, Acre, Rondônia, Brasília (DF), Goiás, and Tocantins.
