FPSO Anita Garibaldi – The Strategic Platform of Petrobras for the Revitalization Plan of the Campos Basin, Which Will Interconnect 43 Oil Wells!
The Marlim field, located in the Campos Basin, will undergo a revitalization that foresees the additional production of 860 million barrels of oil by the end of the concession contract in 2048, according to Petrobras estimates. The revitalization initiative replaced nine platforms with two new FPSOs (floating production, storage, and offloading units), Anna Nery and Anita Garibaldi, which are designed to significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions and add about 115 thousand bpd to daily production.
Mariana Cavassin, Executive Manager of Production Development Projects at Petrobras, highlighted during the Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) in Houston, that the project not only extends the field’s lifespan by 23 years but also aims to achieve significant additional production. “This substantial volume of oil still available in Marlim allows us to significantly extend operations in the field,” said Cavassin.
