The Electric Pickup Is Similar to a Trailer and Has the Ability to Be Charged Through Solar Light
GMC has partnered with EarthCruiser, a company specializing in adventure vehicles, to transform the electric Hummer EV into a true home on wheels. This partnership not only added an extension on top of the electric pickup, similar to a trailer, but also introduced a solar charging system, according to the website Olhar Digital.
EarthCruiser is known for designing vehicles aimed at off-road adventures and camping, prioritizing both performance and comfort. The collaboration between GMC and EarthCruiser aims to transform the Hummer EV pickup into a complete adventure experience.
The Transformation of the Hummer EV Electric Pickup
The recent unveiling of the Hummer EV EarthCruiser, resulting from this partnership, revealed a carbon fiber extension on top of the electric pickup. This extension, perfectly integrated into the chassis of the pickup, provides space for owners to sleep comfortably and also offers the ability to open the top to admire the sky or enjoy an even greater sense of freedom.

Chevrolet Tornado Van 2026 emerges as a compact van cheaper than many popular cars in Brazil, with a 1.5 engine, 6-speed manual transmission, 650 kg load capacity, 3.3 m³ of usable space, and fuel consumption of up to 18.1 km/l for about R$ 87,000 in tax-free conversion; an urban utility vehicle that Brazilians don’t have, but Mexico does.

Toyota Hilux becomes a ‘cargo truck’: automaker declares a new era for the pickup with greater capacity, reinforced chassis, 2.8 turbodiesel engine, raised suspension, 1,525 kg load capacity, and targets Ford Ranger Super Duty, which tows an impressive 4,500 kg.
Despite its apparently compact size, the electric pickup extension comfortably accommodates two people. The interior of the extension offers a range of amenities, including a bed, table, sink, freezer, refrigerator, induction stove, water heater, indoor shower (besides an outdoor shower), and even a bathroom. Additionally, there are 120V outlets to keep electronic devices powered. The pickup also features a seven-inch touchscreen system for entertainment.
Sustainable Energy and Range in the Electric Pickup
The pursuit of sustainability is evident in the Hummer EV EarthCruiser. Equipped with a 6 kWh lithium battery and 12V, the vehicle is also powered by solar energy, generating an additional 605W. This translates to a total range of seven days without the need for recharging, as reported by the website Electrek.
The partnership between GMC and EarthCruiser offers more than camping conveniences. The new Hummer EV features onboard solar power capabilities, allowing owners to recharge while resting and be ready to continue their journey.
The GMC Hummer EV EarthCruiser is set to be officially launched during the Overland Expo Mountain West event, taking place from August 25 to 27. Travel and camping enthusiasts can reserve a unit on the EarthCruiser website with a deposit of US$ 100. While the final price has yet to be announced, the Hummer EV EarthCruiser promises to be an exciting option for those seeking sustainable and comfortable four-wheeled adventures.
