On last Monday (20th), Logística Brasil (Brazilian Association of Port Users, Transport and Logistics) in partnership with Agência Infra, held a virtual event with public authorities, business people, and entities to discuss recent achievements and future projects for the Port of Rio de Janeiro.

The director-president of Companhia Docas do Rio de Janeiro (CDRJ), Francisco Antonio de Magalhães Laranjeira, reported that he is establishing projects at the Port of Rio de Janeiro in several key areas.
Actions such as improving waterway access, with new nautical signaling to allow nighttime navigation; land access, which includes Port Avenue; enhancing the port’s security with investments in technology; improving management; and new leases for general cargo, liquid bulk, and offshore activities can be cited.

In my strategic vision, Docas must prepare to stay ahead of problems and accommodate large ships, and we aim to make the company as efficient as possible.”
Meanwhile, the executive secretary of the Ministry of Infrastructure (MInfra), Marcelo Sampaio, emphasized that strategic planning is necessary for modernizing port infrastructure and boosting the competitiveness of the Port of Rio de Janeiro, reflecting a dynamic closer to private investments.
