Tamandaré Class Frigate Program Achieves Advances with Operational CMS and IPMS on F200, Marking Technological Milestone for the Brazilian Navy.
The Tamandaré Class Frigate Program (PFCT) has taken an important step with the implementation of the two main integration systems: the CMS (Combat Management System) and the IPMS (Integrated Platform Management System) are operational on the Frigate “Tamandaré” (F200). This achievement marks a significant advance in combat control and platform management.
CMS Enhances Situational Awareness and Efficiency in Naval Combat
A result of the cooperation between Brazilian Atech and German Atlas Elektronik, the CMS of the frigates integrates 22 components of the combat system.
This combination reinforces situational awareness on board and the efficient use of armament.

IPMS Provides Total Platform Control with 68 Managed Systems
The other critical system of the Tamandaré Class Frigate Program, the IPMS, is a result of the partnership between Atech and Canadian L3Harris.
It monitors 68 systems of the platform — including propulsion, power generation and distribution, auxiliaries, and damage control (CAv).
All of this ensures automation, efficiency, and safety in daily operations and in emergencies.

Tamandaré Class Frigate Program: National Construction Strengthened in Itajaí with Technology Transfer
The frigates are being built at TKMS Estaleiro Brasil Sul (EBS) in Itajaí (SC), by the “Águas Azuis” consortium — formed by TKMS, Embraer Defesa & Segurança, and Atech — under the supervision of EMGEPRON.
In total, four escort ships of the “Tamandaré” Class are expected to be delivered to the Brazilian Navy by 2029.
The construction of the F200 frigate is on schedule timeline.
Sea acceptance tests are scheduled for July 2025, with commercial delivery by the end of this year reinforcing the commitment to strict deadlines.
Technological and Operational Milestone for the Navy and Brazilian Industry
The development of the CMS and IPMS of the FCT represents more than naval automation .
It symbolizes a milestone in national technological capability — thanks to technology transfer and partnership between Brazilian companies and foreign partners.
This drives operational advancement of the ships and strengthens the industrial base on land.
