Free Therapeutic Assistant Course of the Federal Institute Has 200 Vacancies for Training in Behavioral Intervention for ASD, Beginning in August.

This Tuesday, (07/30), the Federal Institute of Rondônia (IFRO) is open for enrollment for the course of Therapeutic Assistant, aimed at Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). A total of 200 vacancies are available for the Initial and Continuing Education Course (FIC), which will begin in August 2024. This free course aims to prepare professionals to work in behavioral intervention in different daily contexts, such as the family, school environment, and workplace.

Structure and Modalities of the Free Course of the Federal Institute

The free course will have a total workload of 160 hours and will be offered in a hybrid modality. This means that activities will be split between the virtual environment and face-to-face meetings.

Students will be able to participate in classes remotely, but will need to attend the face-to-face meetings that will take place at the IF — Vilhena Campus, located in Vilhena, Rondônia.

Requirements and Curriculum Matrix

To register for the free course, it is necessary to have completed Elementary School and have basic technology knowledge.

Candidates must have a computer, mobile phone, or tablet with internet access to follow the EAD activities.

The curriculum matrix of the course includes a variety of essential modules for the training of a therapeutic assistant. The course structure is as follows:

Introduction to EAD — 10 hours;
Skill Acquisition — 20 hours;
Legal Aspects of the Person with ASD — 10 hours;
Acting in the School Environment — 10 hours;
Acting in the Family Environment — 10 hours;
Assessments and Intervention Strategies — 20 hours;
Conceptualization of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) — 40 hours;
Conceptualization of ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) — 20 hours;
Professional Ethics — 10 hours;
The Therapeutic Companion Professional — 10 hours.

This structure has been developed to provide a complete and comprehensive education, addressing both theoretical aspects and practical intervention strategies for ASD.
