Samsung Negotiates With OpenAI and Perplexity to Expand Artificial Intelligence Features in the Galaxy S26 Line and Overcome Dependence on Google.
Samsung wants to expand the artificial intelligence functions of its Galaxy devices beyond Google’s Gemini.
According to Bloomberg, the Korean company is in talks with OpenAI and Perplexity AI to strengthen its portfolio.
New Negotiations Underway
Choi Won-Joon, president of the Mobile eXperience Division, stated that the company is evaluating different AI suppliers.

He emphasized that the upcoming Galaxy S26 line is expected to bring new features for users. “As long as these AI agents are competitive and can provide the best user experiences, we are open to any available AI agent,” said Choi.
The most important thing is that Samsung wants to offer diversity and not rely solely on Google’s ecosystem.
Therefore, the company is looking to integrate services that bring practical and innovative solutions.
Perplexity AI on the Radar
In June, Bloomberg revealed that Samsung is negotiating the inclusion of Perplexity AI’s search features in its upcoming flagship models.
Additionally, the Korean manufacturer is considering investing in the current funding round of the American startup.
These negotiations demonstrate an attempt to diversify in an increasingly competitive market.
Apple, for example, is also heavily investing to enhance its AI services in iPhones.
S25 Line Paved the Way
At the launch of the S25 line in January, Samsung highlighted the AI functions in the devices.
Most of these features, however, are managed by Google’s system.
Now, with the arrival of the S26 line, the expectation is that users will find more advanced and personalized alternatives.
The competition for smart technologies promises to define the next generation of smartphones.
