TAG Presents at ROG.e 2024 the BioTAG Hub, a Connection Solution for Biogas Producers to the Natural Gas Transportation Network, Expanding the Energy Mix.

TAG revealed at ROG.e 2024 the BioTAG Hub, a new platform to facilitate the connection between biogas producers and the national natural gas network. This advancement promises to diversify the country’s energy mix, promoting the use of biogas in different sectors. During the event, TAG, the official sponsor, will be present with its specialists in 12 lectures at the ATGás stand and will participate in 2 other panels throughout the fair.

The BioTAG Hub aims to promote the expansion of green gas in Brazil, providing a sustainable and efficient alternative to conventional gas. This initiative is crucial for the energy transition, increasing access to biogenic methane, an essential product for reducing carbon emissions. Thus, the energy sector gains an important tool for strengthening renewable gas in the national energy matrix.

The Associated Gas Transporter (TAG), one of the sponsors of ROG.e – Connecting Energies, will showcase an innovative proposal during the event to facilitate access for biogas producers to its extensive pipeline network. This system spans 10 states across the North, Northeast, and Southeast regions of Brazil, benefiting various markets along its routes.

BioTAG Hub Initiative

Named the BioTAG Hub, this novelty will be presented on Tuesday (24th), at 5:30 PM, at the stand of the Association of Natural Gas Transport Companies (ATGás), located in the Kobra Pavilion. Biogas is fully interchangeable with natural gas, and its use can triple the national supply of this important energy source. The creation of these biogas hubs integrated with TAG’s network will allow producers to access new markets, offering greater flexibility for production variations, increased security, and new alternatives to supply customers, contributing to an expansion of the energy mix of the country, essential for the ongoing energy transition.

Additionally, TAG will participate in 12 other lectures at the ATGás stand, addressing various relevant practices and initiatives in the natural gas market. Among the topics to be discussed are the CO2 emissions reduction program, career opportunities in the sector, technological challenges in asset management, among other pertinent topics to the energy sector. These topics are crucial for anyone interested in the future of the Brazilian energy mix and for those who wish to better understand the role of biogas and renewable gas in this transition.

Participation of TAG’s CEO

In the official program of the fair, TAG’s CEO, Gustavo Labanca, will be present at various events. He will participate in the ‘Strategic Talk 5’ on 09/24, at 3:50 PM, on the Petrobras Stage. In addition, he will be present at the Special Session on Natural Gas entitled ‘The Importance of the Transportation Link for the Market Opening Process’ on 09/26, at 11:20 AM, in the Galp Room. TAG has the largest natural gas transportation network in the country, with approximately 4,000 km crossing about 200 municipalities in ten Brazilian states. Of this extensive network, 3,700 km are located along the Brazilian coastline, covering states such as Ceará, Rio Grande do Norte, Paraíba, Pernambuco, Alagoas, Sergipe, Bahia, Espírito Santo, and Rio de Janeiro, while the remaining 800 km are in Amazonas.

TAG’s Agenda at ROG.e

In addition to the highlight given to the BioTAG Hub, Gustavo Labanca, CEO of TAG, will also participate in two lectures at the ROG.e congress. On Tuesday (24th), he will discuss, from 3:50 PM to 4:20 PM, on the Petrobras Stage I, the studies on the gas storage project that the company is developing in partnership with Origem Energia, with the presence of the CEO of Origem, Luiz Felipe Coutinho. On Thursday (26th), from 11:20 AM to 12:20 PM, Labanca will participate in the Special Session on Natural Gas in the Galp Room.

Below is the complete agenda for TAG’s participation at ROG.e. On Monday, September 23, from 2 PM to 2:45 PM, the ESG PANEL on emissions reduction initiatives and Corporate Social Responsibility, among other complementary topics, will be presented. On Tuesday, September 24, the emphasis will be on the Strategic Talk about storage studies and subsequently on the panel about biogas, highlighting its importance as green gas.

More About TAG and Its Investors

The company has a shareholding structure divided between ENGIE, which holds 50% and is a leading company in renewable energy in Brazil, operating in various areas of the energy sector, and CDPQ, a global investment group that also owns 50% stake. The presentation of biogas projects and other renewable gases represents not only a technological advancement but also a commitment to the energy transition and environmental sustainability. On Wednesday, September 25, and Thursday, September 26, the sessions will continue to address crucial topics for the sector, including the status of hydrogen studies and technological challenges in asset management, essential for strengthening the natural gas transportation network and integrating renewable energy sources.
