The Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Southern Minas Gerais has opened 4,000 spots in free, 100% online courses for people who have completed high school and are interested in training related to public health and the school environment.
The opportunities are part of the Capacita Sul de Minas Project and are intended for entry into Initial and Continuing Education courses, known as FIC, offered in the Distance Education modality.
The selection includes two training courses conducted through the Moodle platform, according to the notice published by IFSULDEMINAS for student entry into distance learning courses linked to the project.

Free courses from IFSULDEMINAS have 2,000 spots in each area
The 4,000 spots are equally divided between the two training courses offered by IFSULDEMINAS in this public call.
In the Endemic Disease Control Agent course, there are 2,000 opportunities for training with content related to surveillance, prevention, and control of diseases of public health interest.
Additionally, 2,000 spots have been opened for the First Aid in the School Environment course, focused on initial care content in situations of discomfort and accidents in educational spaces.
According to the notice, the courses are public and free, with no registration, enrollment, or tuition fees during the student’s participation.
However, registration only represents an expression of interest in competing for a spot, as entry depends on the selection rules provided in the process.
Who can participate in the selection
Professionals and students interested in the course areas can apply, provided they have completed high school by the start date of classes.
The notice also establishes a minimum age of 16 years old to participate in the selection process.
In addition to the required education, the candidate must have a CPF, a valid official identification document, and an active email address to follow the selection communications.
The email provided in the registration may be used to send instructions related to the selection process, enrollment, and the progress of the training.
Proof of high school completion can be made by certificate, completion certificate, or school transcript, according to the documentary rules provided in the notice.
For young people and adults who completed schooling outside the regular period, the institution also accepts documents such as a supplementary exam certificate, Enem, or Encceja.
IFSULDEMINAS informs that the correct completion of the form is the responsibility of the candidate throughout the registration stage.
If inconsistencies, false information, or problems in the submitted documentation are identified, enrollment may be denied or canceled, even after selection.
Training in Endemic Disease Control has 240 hours
The Endemic Disease Control Agent course was structured in a single module, with six subjects and a total workload of 240 hours.
The training includes content on surveillance, prevention, disease control, and health promotion in the context of the Unified Health System.
Among the curricular components are Epidemiological Surveillance, with 40 hours; History and Legislation of Public Health in Brazil, also with 40 hours; and Diseases of Interest to Public Health, with 60 hours.
The curriculum also includes Health Surveillance, with 40 hours; Health Surveillance, with 30 hours; and Environmental Surveillance, also with 30 hours.
In the course organization, the content covers public health, territory, prevention, and monitoring of collective risks, according to the curricular division presented by the institution.
According to the notice, one of the specific objectives is to present the epidemiological profile and risk situations related to the area of activity.
The training also includes content focused on prevention and health promotion actions, with social action related to the maintenance of collective health.
First Aid in the School Environment has 120 hours
The First Aid in the School Environment training has 120 hours and was organized in a single module, with nine subjects.
The course covers basic notions of first aid and situations that may occur in educational spaces, especially when there is a need for initial care.
The curriculum includes Basic Skills for the World of Work and Introduction to First Aid, both with 10 hours of workload.
The content also includes topics such as Seizure and Fainting, Burns and Injuries, Choking in Adults and Children, Respiratory Arrest, Cardiac Arrest, and Cardiopulmonary Arrest.
Each of these core blocks lasts 15 hours, according to the curriculum matrix published in the announcement.
The training ends with the subject Transport of the Injured, which has 10 hours and deals with guidelines related to transportation in initial care situations.
The announcement also mentions the Lucas Law when presenting the proposal for the First Aid in the School Environment course.
The training is aimed at teachers, staff of educational institutions, and volunteers who work with children and adolescents, with content related to the prevention of deaths during the school routine.
Selection will be made by electronic draw
The selection of candidates will be carried out by automated electronic draw, using the computerized system of the institutional registration platform.
The procedure will be conducted among all those regularly registered within the indicated period, randomly, according to the rules established for the selection.
After the draw, the system generates the list of selected candidates and the waiting list for participants to follow.
The results will be published on the official IFSULDEMINAS portal, on the announcement page, and it is the responsibility of the registered candidate to follow the institutional announcements.
If the number of applicants is less than the number of available spots for a given course, all registered candidates will be automatically selected.
In this situation, there will be no need for a draw to fill the available opportunities in that training.
The schedule foresees the publication of the list of registered candidates on June 15, 2026, starting at 2 PM.
The electronic draw is scheduled for the same day, at 4 PM, while the result is expected to be published on June 16, also starting at 2 PM.
Classes, certification, and rules to complete the course
The start of classes is scheduled for June 22, 2026, according to the schedule published in the IFSULDEMINAS announcement.
The offer will be conducted remotely, with activities in the virtual learning environment, and will follow the corresponding workload for each selected course.
To receive the certificate, the student must achieve a minimum of 60% in the evaluative activities, complete the mandatory activities provided in the virtual environment, fill out the institutional evaluation when requested, and meet other academic and administrative requirements.
The commitment term attached to the notice also mentions the need for attendance greater than or equal to 75% in the course.
The certificate will be made available to the graduate within 60 days after the end of the training, with a deadline for download in the system indicated by the institution.
The institution informs that the opening of courses depends on filling at least 75% of the spots in each class.
There is also a provision for canceling the offer in specific situations, such as low participation after the start or administrative, financial, pedagogical, or budgetary issues.
How to enroll in the free courses of IFSULDEMINAS
Registration must be done online, through the specific links for each course available on the page of Notice No. 141/2026, on the institutional portal of IFSULDEMINAS.
The candidate must choose only one of the options, as the system does not allow two registrations in the same notice.
During registration, it is necessary to fully complete the form, provide CPF, identification document, valid email, and other data requested by the platform.
After completing the procedure, the candidate automatically receives the registration confirmation at the provided email address.
